Steam Will No Longer Sell Videos

Valve has released a blog post which contains news that Steam will be retiring the site’s Video section. This means Steam will no longer be offering non-gaming related videos in its library, so customers won’t be able to purchase them. Videos on the games’ store pages will still be visible, though. All that remains available in the site are video game-related hardware, software, and games.


PS Plus Year Subscribers Get Rainbow Six Siege for Free

If you’re looking at becoming a new PlayStation Plus subscriber, there’s an incentive for you! Members who subscribe for a year of PS Plus will get a free copy of Rainbow Six Siege. As mentioned, this offer only applies to new accounts. The standard edition of the game will be given to new subscribers for free, and is only available until March 3rd, so if you’re wanting to subscribe, do it while this offer lasts.


Battlerite Royale Goes Free to play

MOBA brawler Battlerite Royale has exited Early Access and is now free to play! As it officially launches, developer Stunlock Studios has also released the game’s BIG PATCH which adds three new Champions, two new areas, and also new regional objects which players will find in certain parts of the map. The patch also includes the Battle Pass system that gives players a Free Pass as well as an option to upgrade to Premium.


Apex Legends Gets New Gun

Apex Legends has received its first big update, and it introduces a new Legends weapon which is a gun that will be named Havoc, as rumors say. The video Respwan teased on Twitter shows the weapon is some kind of an automatic rifle that has what looks like a charge shot that could deal extra damage. Respawn is yet to issue more concrete details on the new weapon so stay tuned as we find out more for you.


Co-op RPG Haven Announced

The Game Bakers, makers of the action shoot ’em up video game Furi, has announced its new game – a co-op RPG with the title Haven. According to the game’s description, Haven is an adventure RPG which tells the story of “two lovers who escaped to a lost planet.” The Game Bakers say Haven is about “everyday love, rebelling against the rules, and also, food.” It also features RPG combat options such as “Pacify,” “Impact,” “Blast,” and “Shield.” Haven will be available on PC and consoles next year.


Square Enix Expects to Release a Major Game This Year

In a recently concluded Q and A between Square Enix and its investors, questions about plans of new game releases with the likes of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Tomb Raider were raised. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda did not go into detail, but he said that people should look forward as E3 2019 approaches, hinting that more announcements on a new major game might be released this year.


The World Next Door’s Release Date Announced

VIZ Media’s narrative-driven, action-adventure game The World Next Door gets a release date. The game is scheduled for release on March 28, 2019 and will be available for PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. It will be available for 15 Dollars for the base game. A Premium bundle is also available for 20 Dollars and it includes the base game plus its soundtrack. The game follows the character Jun who’s described as a “rebellious teen girl trapped in a parallel world inhabited by magical creatures.”


Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Special Operations 4 to Launch Next Week

Ghost Recon Wildlands will be receiving its final Special Operations update next week! The update comes with a new PvE mode and a new class map for existing PvP modes. The update also comes with some quality of life changes such as the ability to toggle time of day during a solo campaign. There will also be a custom match browser coming to the game’s Ghost Wars PvP mode. New challenges for each game type as well as regular PvP events rotation and many more are included in this update.


Overwatch’s New Paris Map Now Live

Overwatch’s new map, Paris is now live which means players across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One can now take their battles to this Assault map. The map is set in France’s most iconic city, and features narrow corridors, streets, and storefronts. It made its Overwatch debut earlier this month and spent a few weeks on the game’s test servers. Alongside the official release of the Paris map is also a patch which includes bug fixes among other things.


Darkest Dungeon 2 Revealed

Darkest Dungeon 2 is definitely on the way, Red Hook Studios confirmed with PC Gamer. The company did not share many details, but they said the game is a direct sequel to the original, and will include its combat system but in a tuned-up form. The company also said they will first release it in Early Access. Stay tuned as more details will be revealed about the game in the coming months.


Amazon/Twitch Prime Members Get Free Apex Legends Skin and Loot

Twitch and Amazon Prime members are in for some Apex Legends treat! All Twitch or Amazon Prime members will be able to claim their free Apex Legends loot pack which contains an exclusive skin. This offer is available for a limited time for players on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Take note, though, that this can only be redeemed in one platform, if you have multiple ones. One of the free skins is the Omega Point skin for Pathfinder, and there are also five Apex Packs.


Rocket League’s Cross-Platform Play Now Live

February 19, 2019 marks the beginning of Rocket League’s 10th Season. It is also the day cross-play became a thing in the sports racing game. Finally, players on different platforms can play with and against each other. This increases the competitive pool of players which in-turn improves matchmaking. Season 10 also signals the end of Season 9 for which players can now claim their seasonal rewards. This update features quality of life changes, including being able to add players from your recently played list.


Jump Force Gets First DLC in May

Bandai Namco’s crossover anime fighter Jump Force will be getting its first DLC in May of this year. The game was off to a rocky start at release but the developers persist to make changes and add new content. Bandai Namco never said anything beyond that which was announced with regards to the incoming DLC. We don’t know what the DLC entails nor do we know the specific date, but we will be standing by for future updates. Jump Force is currently available for PS4, PC and Xbox One.


Path of Exile’s Big Synthesis Expansion to Launch in March

Grinding Gear Games continues to churn out updates as it gets ready to release its massive Synthesis Expansion next month. The Synthesis Expansion will be launching on the 8th of March 2019 for PC, and on the Xbox One shortly thereafter. In addition to the launch of the Synthesis update, the developers will be queuing the long-awaited release of the PlayStation 4 edition in March. WNBA Athletes Could Be Featured in Next 2K Game

There is a possibility players can expect to see WNBA players in the next edition of NBA2K. The speculations spawned when UCONN alum and two-time WNBA Champion Renee Montgomery posted a photo on Twitter of her modeling for an undisclosed NBA2K game. Though only speculations and rumors circulate, none of the governing bodies have come forward to debunk any of the claims. For some players it would be a welcomed addition while others scoff at the idea, however, nothing has been confirmed.


Paladins: Champions of the Realm Gets New Character

Paladins: Champions of the Realm is getting ready to receive its new hero named Atlas. This hero is a time-traveler who hails from a disturbed future and blessed with time-warping abilities. As you may have guessed, his in-game abilities are linked with is capacity to manipulate his time power. Atlas can summon a wall to slow time, rewind time for himself and opponents, and even banish enemies from the space-time continuum. Atlas will join the roster in March as part of the Future’s End update.


Google Teases Big Gaming Announcement for March 19th

Google has teased that a big gaming announcement will be coming in March. The company is planning to brandish a gaming project that has been kept hush at a Game Developers Conference presentation on March 19, 2019. The invitation in itself is mysterious as it shows just a light at the end of a hallway followed by the puzzling tagline “gather around.” Google has not shared any more news with regards to the announcement but the company was successful in triggering our curiosity, and so we wait.


Yakuza Kiwami Out Now on Steam

SEGA is pleased to announce that their story-rich action-RPG Yakuza Kiwami has been released and is fully optimized for PC. Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the original title in the Yakuza franchise which tells a captivating story of our titular hero. He is an up-and-coming Yakuza who has taken the blame for the murder of a crime boss. After 10 years of wrongful imprisonment, find out and influence what happens with regards to the protagonist. Expect enhanced gameplay, cinematic story, and audio.


Breach Adds Medic Class and More in New Update

Breach is poised to receive a new update consisting of a few additions and changes, the most noteworthy addition of the lot is a new Medic Class. This Class comes as a part of the Patch 0.1: Valley of Kings which also introduces the map, a new boss named Sekhmet who is the Egyptian goddess of war, and quite a few tweaks and improvements. Scum to Get Vehicles, Base Building and Missions According to Development Roadmap

Developer Gamepires revealed a three month road-map for their open-world survival game, Scum. The roadmap teases incoming vehicles, base building, and missions. The developers say they are pushing more towards realism in the game and fingered car physics as one aspect to be improved upon. Base building, then inventory system are also targets for improvement. Scum was to see female characters added by Valentine’s Day but it was postponed. Said characters will be added soon.


Supply Drops Return to Black Ops 4

Operation Grand Heist for Black Ops 4 saw the return of supply drops in the form of Reserve Crates. These crates include three items, all of which are attainable through direct purchase and in-game currency. However, going the in-game currency route only grants you one of the three items. It has not been specified as to how long it will take players to grind the points required to acquire said items but as you can imagine, it won’t be too easy. The game is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.


John Romero’s Ultimate Doom Expansion Sigil Delayed to April

John Romero announced that his Doom expansion Sigil will be postponed until April of this year. Initially, the expansion was to be released next month but upon encountering ” a few snags” the developer declared that more time is needed. Sigil is the unofficial sequel to Ultimate Doom and has new single-player levels packed with demons, weapons, and nine new Deathmatch levels. For access to Sigil, own the original 1993 version of Doom and install the expansion as a megawad.
