Indie Game Heaven’s Vault to Launch This Spring

Heaven’s Vault developers, Inkle, says we are to expect the game’s launch in Spring of this year. Heaven’s Vault lets you explore the forgotten ruins of the Nebula, read ancient inscriptions, and uncover a lost past. Sea of Thieves Surprisingly Becomes One of the Biggest Games on Twitch

Sea of Thieves is now among the biggest games on Twitch and nobody saw it coming. Rare’s open-world pirate adventure game got off to an arguably rocky start upon launch in March of last year. Towards the end of the year, it approached the top ten most viewed games like a thief in the night. Currently the game can be spotted in the top 3 slot at peak hours with over 100,000 viewers. The game grasped the attention of some big streamers on Twitch after the Shrouded Spoils update and catapulted upwards thereafter.


Slay the Spire Officially Launches

Mega Crit Games is pleased to announce that Slay the Spire has officially left Early Access. The turn-based card game was in early access for a year. During this time players saw the developers make many changes and tweaks to the game. The developers have released a celebratory new launch trailer which shows the polished version of the game currently available to players. Slay the Spire is available on PC now and is intended to come to Nintendo Switch later this year.


Anthem’s Multiplayer Social Hub Launch Pad Introduced

Anthem producer Mike Gamble confirmed that the game’s social hub will be available at launch, but not in the demo. This information was gathered from a tweet published by the producer’s official Twitter account. The gist of the message was that Anthem will offer a multiplayer hub named the Launch Bay. In the Launch Bay, as many as 16 players can come together and prepare for new missions or just hang out and be social. Anthem launches February 22nd on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.


League of Legends 9.2 Update Brings Sylas the Unshackled

Riot Games’ League of Legends patch 9.2 comes with a brand new hero, Sylas the Unshackled. The developers introduced the new hero with epic cinematic trailer which details his back story, his motives, and his some of his flashy ability combinations. Sylas takes with him “merciless magical attacks” for battle. His ultimate ability is truly unique in that it enables him to steal an opponent’s ultimate and wield it himself. League of Legends Patch 9.2 is currently available.


Anthem Has Officially Gone Gold

BioWare is elated to announce that their action role-playing game, Anthem has officially acquired gold status. This means that the game has received the green light and therefore shelf ready. The game has been in development for quite some time and the fans have been anticipating it for just as long. Players may test a demo scheduled for the weekend of January 25 but will wait a little while longer for the full release. Anthem is set to be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 22, 2019.


Far Cry New Dawn Drops Arcade Mode

Ubisoft has reported that they are removing the PVP arcade multiplayer mode, so that they can streamline their focus on enhancing the post-apocalyptic narrative experience. There are a host of reasons and outside speculations formed about the developers choice to remove the mode, but Ubisoft has not divulged much information on the topic. If the developers are doing as proclaimed, Far Cry New down is on course to be very well produced when it drops. The game drops for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.


American Ninja Warrior Challenge Video Game Announced

The game based on the hit TV show American Ninja Warrior is set to be released in March 2019. American Ninja Warrior Challenge is very good for any aspiring challengers or persons whose circumstances do not permit them to compete in the actual show, as it simulates in great detail, the events and personalities. The developers have now made it so that anyone in possession of an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, has a shot at becoming an American Ninja Warrior. Let’s hope that the game’s success will match that of the TV show.


Bannerman Release Date Revealed

Pathos Interactive released a trailer for their medieval strategy game, Bannermen. The developers have also labeled February 21, 2019, as the release date for the game. The trailer beautifully captures the lore of the game through well-done narration, coated by fitting thematic music, and detailed illustrations. The goal of Bannermen sounds relatively simple: lead your bannermen to victory and defeat the evil. However, the game is a true test of your strategic prowess.


PUBG Gets Snowbikes and Nighttime Mode

Bluehole added a new snowbike and a moonlit night-time mode to PUBG. The map is completely lit by a full moon and the captivating glow of the Aurora Borealis. A snowbike will replace the motorcycle and is quicker and much more mobile than a snowmobile. The major drawback of the snow-bike is, it is a lot more fragile than its predecessor, making it more liable to being completely obliterated by enemy gunfire. These are available in the Vikendi map.


Anthem Won’t Feature Cross-Play at Launch

Anthem’s lead producer, Ben Irving confirmed that cross-play will not be available for the game at launch. In all fairness there was not much expectation for cross-play to be in the game, let alone ready at launch, but it is still good to have the clarification. He never explicitly said there would be cross-play, nor did he confirm there would be none at all. When he was asked, he said, “Not at launch,” which slithers a little hope into the hearts of payers that there will be cross-play at some future juncture.


Generation Zero Release Date Revealed

Avalanche has announced the release date for its atmospheric co-op game Generation Zero. The game is set to launch on March 26th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will cost you 35 Dollars on PC, and 40 Dollars on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One come launch day. Generation Zero pits you and other players in a seamless co-op gameplay as you wage a guerrilla war against invading machines.

You can go ahead and get Jackbox Party Pack for free in the Epic Games storefront. This will be available today up until February 7, 2019, and it includes You Don’t Know Jack 2015, Fibbage XL, and Drawful. If you don’t have the Epic Games launcher installed yet, that won’t be a problem as you can get this freebie by just logging into your account in any browser available. After this freebie, the next one is for Axiom Verge, and this will be available from February 7th up until the 21st.


Hearthstone Competitive Play Gets Reworked for Quicker Rank Up

Blizzard revealed that they are restructuring how players rank up in Hearthstone. Right now, players would need 5 stars in their rank in order to go to the next rank. These can be gathered by winning games as well as going on winning streaks. If you are already in rank 20 and above, the stars can also be taken away from you when you lose. Good news is that starting in February, not everyone will need the 5 stars to rank up. Ranks 50 through 16 will need 3 stars, ranks 15 to 11, 4 stars and ranks 10 to 1, 5 stars.


Bethesda Adds PvP Mode to Fallout 76

Fallout 76 is getting a PvP mode, Bethesda announced. This new PvP mode is the Survival mode which will be available in beta by March. In this mode players outside your team will be considered hostile which means anyone can shoot at anyone any given time. This new mode will even have leaderboards for you to know how you rank compared to others. When you die, you can only be respawned at camp or at Vault 76. Also, when you kill a player, you get more currency as well as loot items.


Paladins: Champions of the Realm Cross-Play Feature Now Live

Hi-Rez has announced that Paladins: Champions of the Realm is now supporting cross-platform play. This means players on PC, Switch, and Xbox One can play together, and even have their progress saved across these platforms, allowing players to jump back and forth between systems. As expected, PlayStation 4 is not part of the pack, probably because of Sony’s policies. Paladins: Champions of the Realm is available as a free-to-play game. It has a battle royale mode called Battlegrounds.


Pillars of Eternity 2 Gets a Turn-Based Combat Mode

Pillars of Eternity 2 now has a turn-based combat mode. This feature was added through an update in January 24. Game director Josh Sawyer said this new mode significantly changes the game as “turn-based mode slows everything down,” he said. This is a hugely tactical mode of play, he adds. The new turn-based combat feature is now available and comes free for all players.


Endless Games Currently Free to Play on Steam

Amplitude Studio’s Endless series is available on Steam for free starting now up until January 28th, Monday. The Endless titles included are Endless Legend as well as Endless Space 2. PUBG Corp Launches PUBG Lite Open Beta in Thailand

The open beta for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Lite version is now available, but only in Thailand. PUBG Lite is PUBG Corp’s effort in getting more players to play the game as this one’s specifically built for lower-end PCs. This is also free-to-play forever. The Lite version, though, only includes the Erangel map, and players can take part in Solo/Duo/Squads in third-person perspective. PUBG Corp promises to add more game maps and modes moving forward.


Datamined SoulCalibur 6 Files Show More Returning Fighters

SoulCalibur 6 files have been datamined and showed what appears to be code names of returning characters that will be added as DLCs. The code names are: Stone – which could pertain to Rock, Yell, Star, Snow – which could be Setsuka, Reptile – as Lizardman and Yellow- which could be Hwang. So far, Bandai Namco has only confirmed 2 additional characters which are Tira, and 2B from Nier Automata.


A Plague Tale: Innocence to Launch This Year

Developer Asobo Studio announced their upcoming game called A Plague Tale: Innocence. This is a puzzle survival game that puts you in the shoes of a teenage noblewoman named Amicia and her younger brother named Hugo. The game is set in 14th century France, a time when the Black Death is sweeping across Europe. Players will face loss and hardships, even being forced to kill other people in order to survive. A Plague Tale: Innocence will launch on May 14 and is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.


For Honor’s Year 3 Kicks Off With a New Hero

For Honor’s Year 3 kicks off on January 31st, bringing with it a slew of new content, including the new hero, Vortiger the Dark Hero. Following Vortiger are also new heroes for the Samurai, Viking, and Wu Lin factions and are expected to roll out come April, July, and October. There will also be new maps, new customization, new gear, as well as a major event for each season.
