Anno 1800 Delayed to April
Ubisoft Blue Byte community developer Bastian Thun has announced that the release date for real-time strategy city-builder Anno 1800 won’t be releasing on February 26th as previously announced. In a lengthy post on the series’ official site, he revealed that the game will be delayed by almost two months.
Thun wants to assure fans that development has been going smoothly. “We are very happy with where the game and its wide mix of new and classic features are today, but we know that it can be even better with a little additional polish and tuning“, he explained. “These extra weeks will allow us to deliver a game that fully lives up to its potential.”
Thun also announced that the game’s closed beta will be starting next week on January 31st. The closed beta won’t have a non-disclosure agreement, which means those who participate will be free to discuss their experience on any channel and share footage of their gameplay. It is a closed beta though, so you’ll need to sign up for a chance to get in.
Anno 1800 is now set to launch on April 16th for PC. The devs are also promising some more reveals as the launch draws nearer. There’s something about an all-new feature, multiplayer details, a soundtrack preview, and a reveal for the game’s campaign.
