Dragon Ball FighterZ Second Season Pass Announced
Bandai Namco recently unveiled a new title and in the same breath announced Dragon Ball FighterZ’s second season pass. They then went on to share that players are to expect another batch of DLC characters. The previous season pass saw 8 new characters introduced, some of which were iterations of existing ones. This was an issue for some players, but now they hope for more character diversity in the incoming wave. Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently available on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Jurassic World Evolution Has Sold 2 Million Copies
Frontier Developments is pleased to announce that Jurassic World Evolution has sold over 2 million copies since its inception in July of last year. The studio is particularly ecstatic because these numbers have made Jurassic World Evolution their biggest launch to date. “Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster also continue to perform well, as our strategy of supporting, nurturing and enhancing each of our game franchises continues to deliver.” said CEO David Braben.
Far Cry: New Dawn’s System Requirements Revealed
Ubisoft has officially released the system requirements for Far cry: New Dawn. The developers had promised to maintain the same level of polished gameplay so there is no surprise that the recommended system requirements mirror that of last year’s Far Cry 5. The required specs for lower-end PCs have seen the most pronounced change, as now you need AMD FX 6350 at 3.9 GHz as opposed to AMD FX-6300 at 3.5 GHz. In conclusion, the game runs basically the same. The major changes lie within the story and gameplay.
My Time at Portia Fully Launches on Steam
It is a good time to be Pathea Games as their open-world RPG, My Time At Portia is out of early access. The full game is currently available for purchase in the Steam Store. The announcement came with a trailer that displayed many elements in the game. The developers are inviting you to come build your workshop, run your farm, add your creative touch to everything, and become a part of a vibrant community. Days Gone ESRB Rating Revealed
The Entertainment Software Rating Board has supposedly labeled Days Gone “M” for mature. The first sighting and of the game’s ESRB rating was on the official Days Gone page on PlayStation’s website. The rating is displaying alongside trailer, descriptions, images and other Days Gone related content. Please note that ESRB has not officially posted Days Gone’s rating. However, the mature members of the gaming community can expect the game to be released on April 24th of this year.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC The Nightmare Revealed
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Nightmare will be released on January 22, 2019. There is not much information about the DLC outside of that which was shared in a press release and a tweet from the official Tomb Raider account. The Tweet read “Journey through ‘The Nightmare’ on January 22nd as Lara Croft faces off against familiar enemies and fallen friends.” In the midst of the teasers, an image was also released illustrating Lara Croft outside of a large mansion or cemetery.
Artifact’s Player Numbers Drastically Decreases Nearly Two Months After Launch
Nearly two months after Valve released their DOTA digital collectible card game, Artifact, nearly 95% of its players have stopped playing. The game reached an all-time peak of sixty thousand seven hundred forty concurrent players, but that number has dwindled down to a little over three thousand in recent days. Although the game was highly-anticipated before release, it never really took off. Some say it’s because of the high price of entry and Valve’s poor monetization scheme.
Jump Force Pre-Order Bonuses Revealed
Bandai Namco has revealed the pre-order bonuses for their upcoming anime crossover brawler, Jump Force, in a new trailer. Those who pre-order will receive in-game items based on Shonen Jump’s big three — Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto. There’s the cloak of Naruto’s father, Minato Namikaze, a One-Piece-based pirate cloak, and Frieza’s hover pod, which can be ridden by your avatar in the game’s hub world. Meanwhile, day 1 purchasers will get armor based on those worn by Frieza’s army.
Chaos;Child to Release on PC Next Week
Chaos;Child, a visual novel that’s part of the series that spawned the popular Steins;Gate series, is coming to PC. The game is currently available on the PS4 and the PS Vita, but will be launching on Steam come January 22nd. The game will have players tracking down a serial killer responsible for a series of supernatural murders. Players will also be torn between disturbing nightmares or pleasurable daydreams that both affect the story and the reality the main character perceives.
Boundless’ First Major Update Rolls Out
Boundless just got its first major update. The update introduces a guild system for the MMO, allowing anyone to create or join guilds. There are also features for assigning roles and creating factions within guilds. Messaging has also been improved, now allowing players to send messages to friends and guildmates from anywhere in the game’s universe. A new collection of decorative blocks have also been added. This includes Marble, Mosaic, Refined Gravel and Wicker.
Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2’s Second Pre-Order Beta Now Open
The second pre-order beta for Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 has begun. Those who participate will get a chance to play part of the Imperial and Necron campaigns. Multiplayer and skirmish will also be accessible, including all 12 playable factions, ranked play, and custom map options. This beta will also feature balance adjustments and bug fixes that resulted from the first one. It’ll run until the game’s launch. Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 is set to release on January 24th on PC.
New Dragon Ball Z Action-RPG Announced
Bandi Namco has announced that they are in the process of developing an action-RPG set in the world of Dragon Ball Z. Thus far, only the tweet which announced that the game is in progress and a working title is available. Currently, the title is labeled Dragon Ball Game Project Z. The developers have promised to release more news related to said title at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals on January 26, 2019. The event is set to span 2 days ending on the 27th of January.
Super Animal Royale Gets Major Update
Super Animal Royale has captured the hearts of gamers worldwide with an impressive 97% positive rating on Steam. The Early Access battle royale title is fresh from its debut a month ago, and now its biggest update has rolled out. This update adds the new region called Super Animal World welcome center. Players will find lots of easter eggs in this region, as well as themed restaurants. The update also adds other small details such as new billboards, and more animal shanties. Ring of Elysium’s Second Season and Europa Map Now Live
Aurora Studios has released Adventurer pass season 2: Paradise Falls and a huge content update consisting of a new Europa Island map for Ring Of Elysium. In the Europa Island map, players can see an active volcano which wonderfully accents the theme of the island. The island comes with unique interactions which dictate the flow of the game. Open-World RPG Dysmantle Lets You Break Everything, Out This Year
Developer 10tons has announced its upcoming open-world RPG that lets players destroy everything in the name of survival. The game is called Dysmantle, and it is set to launch sometime this year on PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Dysmantle is set in a post-apocalyptic world and the undead have apparently taken over. The game’s synopsis says what players will do in-game: “Explore. Fight. Level up. Survive. Gather. Craft. Harvest. Hunt. Build. Farm. Solve puzzles. Fish. Cook. Live. Enjoy the bittersweet post-apocalypse.”
Side-Scroller Salt and Sanctuary Finally Heading to Xbox One
First released on PS4 and PC back in 2016, developer Ska Studios is finally bringing its Dark Souls-inspired side-scrolling game Salt and Sanctuary to the Xbox One this year. The 2D action-adventure game is set to release on Xbox One this February 6th. The game features protagonist Saltborn who finds himself in a bleak kingdom of ruins. The game itself looks like a straight port of the other versions, with same features such as New Game +, challenge modes, and local co-op.
Sea of Thieves’ Install Size Decreased
Rare is decreasing Sea of Thieves’ install size. This will take effect on February 6th, as the developer is set to release an update for the game on the said date. According to Rare, the update will “greatly reduce the game’s overall install size and optimize the way we update Sea of Thieves going forward.” Once the update rolls out, players would need to download and reinstall the game. The new file size for PC will now be at 27 Gb from the original 47GB, while on Xbox One it’s going to be at 10GB from 35GB.
Next Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Event Now Live
The Nintendo Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Board event is now live and will be running through the weekend, ending on January 21st 6 AM GMT. This is the second part which includes the Fire Emblem Fest. Here, the Fire Emblem characters will show themselves much more frequently on the Spirit Board. Defeating them will give you the chance to earn some extra gold during this time. This 2nd part will feature Legend-class Spirits Azura and Caeda as well as Ace-class Spirits like Leo and Takumi.
The Division 2’s Private Beta Schedule Announced
The Division 2 private beta will be taking place next month as announced by Ubisoft. Those who were able to pre-order the game on their selected platforms will be able to play in this beta starting February 7th up until February 10th. In order to play in the private beta, you must fill out a form on the game’s official website after getting your copy of the game. Along with this announcement is a new trailer for the game which promises that “History Will Remember”. The Division 2 will launch on March 15.
Black Ops 4: Blackout Features Respawning for the First Time
Treyarch announced a brand new mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode Blackout. The new mode is called Down But Not Out and it will actually introduce respawning to the game. This means that anyone in the game is able to respawn whenever the circle resets. In order to do this, at least one member of your squad should be left alive. Whenever you respawn, you will be given a small basic loadout. Right now this mode is available on the PS4 version of the game until January 30th.
Dead Cells Sold 100,000 on Switch in One Week
France-based studio Motion Twin has announced that their game Dead Cells was able to sell 100,000 copies for the Nintendo Switch in its first week of launch. The game’s Switch version outsells the PlayStation 4 edition of the game four to one. This announcement was made by Benjamin Lualan of Automaton Media, the “community management, support, producer assistant”. Lualan also adds that the very first major patch for Dead Cells will be free and is set to launch by the first quarter of 2019.
For Honor Year 3’s First New Hero for 2019 Revealed
For Honor Year 3 is kicking off soon, and Ubisoft has unveiled the first of the four new heroes joining the game. The new hero is Vortiger the Black Prior, a heavy class knight whois armed with a giant shield and a longsword. The Black Prior Vortiger will be available to players who own the Year 3 Pass starting January 31st. Everyone else without the pass will get it by February 7th with 15,000 Steel. Also coming on January 31st is the new Dominion map, Harbor.
