First Details on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 DLC Revealed
Nintendo’s Japanese website has revealed details on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3’s first paid DLC pack, Curse of the Vampire. The DLC is set to arrive on September 30th, and it brings Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight, and Morbius as playable characters. The website also includes information on Gauntlet Mode, which, according to Nintendo, is “mode in which up to four players collaborate and continuously challenge various challenges.”
Warframe Adds Playable Guitars
Warframe has received its latest update on PC, and players were surprised that playable guitars were added to the game. The guitars are called Shawzin, and while they have been part of the game before, this is the first time they are have been made playable. Warframe players were quick to create music and up on Reddit there are already tons of recordings, like s Shawzin version of “Despacito” and “Through The Fire And The Flames.”
22-year-old WoW Classic Player Hits Level 60
A 22-year-old World of Warcraft Classic player from Malta has hit the game’s level cap. The player who goes by the name Jokerd created a gnome mage and hit level 60 in just three days and seven hours. The 22-year-old streamed the whole thing on Twitch, beating Warcraft’s most famous guild, Method, who was streaming their gameplay in a Los Angeles studio. Jokerd’s stream peaked at 350,000 viewers.
Driveclub Fans Get Angry at Sony for Delisting the Game Earlier
Angry fans are lashing out at Sony for delisting Driveclub 24 hours earlier than the company previously announced. Back in March, Sony announced that they are delisting the title on August 31st, but players who were on a last-minute shopping spree found that the game was delisted as early as August 30th. Sony is yet to respond to players’ queries about this issue.
The Outer Worlds’ Environment Highlighted in Latest Trailer
The Outer Worlds has revealed a new trailer at PAX West 2019. The new trailer showcases the game’s world, and comes in the form of a recruitment ad for the Halcyon Colony. The video showcases some of the structures found in the game’s world as well as some gameplay opportunities. Combat was also featured, including some of the enemies players will face. All these and more will be available once the game launches on October 24th.
Yakuza 7 Switches to Turn-Based Combat
Yakuza 7 is switching to a turn-based combat system according to a series of tweets from its producer, Masayoshi Yokoyama. Yokoyama explained that the combat system, called “Live Command RPG Battle,” is a turn-based combat but the fight is “constantly in motion” as the characters keep moving around. The fight will also start from where players are standing instead of transitioning into a new screen. Yakuza 7 is out January 16th.
Borderlands 3 Content Calendar and Timeline Revealed
Gearbox revealed more details on Borderlands 3 during PAX West. The developer revealed the game’s content calendar for Fall/Winter 2019. The game will be getting a free event called Bloody Harvest which brings spooky activities as well as unique event rewards. Another upcoming free content update will be added and it is called Maliwan Takedown. It includes a new map, challenging new enemies, an all-new boss to take down, and powerful rewards to be earned. DLC 1 is also scheduled to be launched during this time.
Astroneer Coming to PS4 on November 15th
System Era’s Astroneer will soon be available on PlayStation 4. The procedurally generated planet explorer will be available starting November 15th, and will come with everything that was released on its PC and Xbox One versions. It will also include the Explorer Update’s jetpack, jump-jet and player camera which will launch on September 4th. Cross-platform play has not been mentioned as one of its features.
Overland All Set for Launch on September 19th
Finji has announced that its strategic survival road-trip adventure game Overland will be launching on September 19th, and will be available on Steam, Itch, and GOG. The game will task players into escaping the apocalypse, and drive from one place to another as they search for a safe haven. Players will also have to scavenge for supplies, and fight against strange creatures that come their way.
Land of War: The Beginning Announced
World War II FPS Land of War: The Beginning has been announced. The game is still in development, and it is scheduled for launch in the second half of 2020. Land of War: The Beginning is set in the year 1939 in Poland, during German “Blitzkrieg” invasion. The game features weapons, vehicles, and uniforms specially recreated for the game. The game’s story is also based on real-life events.
Warriors Orochi 4 Gets Ultimate Edition
Koei Tecmo has unveiled Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate, which features a new crossover from Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and “the gods of ancient history.” Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate adds seven more characters to the game, increasing the character count from 170 to 177. One of the characters being added is Gaia, who’s known to have created lands in the beginning of time. Ultimate will be available as a standalone purchase, or as a special Upgrade Pack for those who already own the game.
Mordhau Gets New Elo Ranked Duel Mode
Mordhau recently received a new update that adds an Elo ranked duel mode. The game possesses a unique set of mechanics which players must master and apply to become successful on the battlefield. Though there are a number of modes in which players can exercise and hone the said mechanics, besting your foes could be more rewarding which is why this new ranked 1v1 duel mode is a welcomed addition. Speaking of Mechanics, kicking has also been buffed and now comes out faster with more range.
Physical Version of Metal Wolf Chaos to Arrive This Month
Devolver Digital has announced that Metal Wolf Chaos XD is getting a physical version for the PS4 later this month and it is currently available for preorder. There will be only 3000 copies released so the developers are urging you to place your order while supplies last. The physical edition features the critical updates and patches; Reversible Jacket Artwork; 40-Page Instruction Booklet and Sticker; Propaganda Envelope; Wilson and Hawk Stickers and an MWC Themed Patch.
Battle Pass System Coming to Destiny 2
Bungie recently announced that Destiny 2 will be getting battle pass system geared towards providing a steady stream of rewards on both a free and a premium track. Director Luke Smith has since affirmed that the battle pass will follow your guardian wherever you decide to play Destiny 2 courtesy of the cross-save function. Therefore, it is important that players set up their cross-save system if they wish to enjoy this luxury. Destiny 2 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Contraptions and Ace Tier Units Announced for Dota Underlords
Valve’s new hit auto-chess game, Dota Underlords has received a new update which adds contraptions and some Ace Tier units. For those who don’t already know, Contraptions are non-unit pieces that you can place on the board. There were already a host of technical and tactical ways to best your opponent so these will definitely alter the way battles play out. On the other hand, Ace Tier units are Tier 4 and 5 heroes that act as act ‘capstone’ units to their particular alliance.
Football Manager 2020 is Officially Announced
Football Manager 2020 has officially been announced to the delight of fans of the football simulation franchise. To highlight the significance of this announcement, the developers released a trailer of people expressing the anguish that sometimes befalls them when they play the game’s predecessors. Sports Interactive is also offering an early signing bonus which is basically a 10% discount for the Steam edition of the game. Football Manager 2020 is due out in November 2019.
Astral Chain Tops UK Charts
PlatinumGames is surely in a celebratory mood, considering that their Nintendo Switch exclusive action-adventure game Astral Chain currently the number one on the UK physical games sales chart. Bugbear Entertainments Wreckfest was second, ahead of The Dark Pictures Anthology’s first chapter Man of Medan in third. Remedy Entertainment’s Control and Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe round out the top 5. Unlike the other titles on the list, Astral Chain is only on one platform which makes it even more impressive.
New Persona Royal Character Revealed
Atlus persists to publish Persona 5 Royal related tweets; each time revealing pieces of information. The latest bit of information posted was a short trailer showing the persona fusion of Fafnir which is a new persona added to the game. More specifically, Fafnir is a demon that many will remember from the appearance it made in any Megami Tensei related game of old. In any case, this will be his first appearance in Persona 5 and will be part of the Strength Arcana.
Overwatch Season 18 Delayed Because of Bug
Unfortunate news recently surfaced on Overwatch’s Twitter account that Overwatch Season 18 has been delayed. According to the tweet, the delay is due to the discovery of a bug that appears to have affected matchmaking in the game. As a result of this issue, the role queue beta season has been extended until the season 18 releases. Fortunately, it should not be too long before the issue is rectified so Season 18 can commence and players indulge in all the activities therein.
Only First Person Cutscenes are Available for Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 was being marketed as both a third-person and first-person perspective game. However, the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account claimed that the game is now using first person and no third person for its cut-scenes. Initially, The gameplay was meant to be experienced from a first-person perspective, while the cut-scenes were meant to be from a third-person camera. If this remains true then Cyberpunk 2077 will solely be a first-person perspective title.
Telltale Games is Making a Comeback
Telltale Games, the gaming studio that closed last year is being brought to life by a company named LCG Entertainment. Some of the back catalogs of Telltale will be sold and they also plan on working on new games that are of course associated with the Telltale properties and licenses. This new Telltale will be headed by Jamie Ottilie and Brian Waddle. Both did not work with Telltale previously but they do believe that there is a market for games that do tell a story.
Next Super Smash Bros. Character Possibly from SNK
The fourth DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. could possibly be from SNK. This has been seen on the European Nintendo website where the fourth DLC fighter had the copyright information for the SNK Corporation. What makes everything more suspicious is that the page is still available and had not been taken down yet. There are a lot of fighting game characters under SNK, as that is their specialty. The possibilities could be a Tekken 7 character, or maybe a Metal Slug character, we will know in the future.
