Halo Reach PC Won’t Have Forge and Theater Modes at Launch

The Halo Reach beta has kicked off over the weekend, and we got news about the game’s Forge and Theater modes. In its recent development update, 343 Industries confirmed that both modes won’t be coming to Halo Reach on PC when it launches. However, both modes will be shipping along with the game’s Xbox One version when it gets added to the Master Chief Collection. Forge Mode will allow players to build their own multiplayer maps, while Theater Mode allows players to record footage of their gameplay.


Payday 2 Browser Game Gives Payday 2 DLC for Those Who Beat It

There’s a free Payday 2 browser game that will reward players with a DLC for Payday 2 – the main game – when they beat it. The game is called Payday 2: The Text Adventure, and it can be played for free on your browser. The game will have the Payday 2 crew prepare for a bank job, and the choices you make will affect the outcome of the game. Third Ni No Kuni Game Confirmed

Level-5 has confirmed that a third Ni No Kuni game is now in development, although details about it are very scarce at this time. The news came from Level-5 president Akihiro Hino who revealed it through an interview with a Japanese magazine named Nikkei. There’s no mention whether the game will also be coming to PC, or what platforms it will be available on.


Black Ops 4’s Blackout Loses Split-Screen

Split-screen play in Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode has been mysteriously missing. Apparently, Treyarch removed the feature, and according to their post on Reddit, the development team had to remove it to “evaluate some known issues.” This feature, though, is still accessible in competitive multiplayer. There’s no news as to when Treyarch will bring back split-screen to the battle royale mode.


Farming Simulator 19 Sells Over Two Million

Farming Simulator 19 has sold over two million copies in the past 12 months, according to Focus Home Interactive. The game is the company’s biggest hit this year. Dontnod’s Vampyr also enjoyed a huge success the past year with over a million copies sold. The developer has also renewed its contract with Focus Home Interactive. Another best-seller is the multiplayer shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm.


PUBG Gets Ping System in Latest Patch

PUBG now has its own version of a ping system – similar to that of Apex Legends. The new system is added through this week’s patch. To activate it, players must hold the mouse wheel in order to flag up an item to a teammate, call out an enemy’s location, suggest a new location for your squad, or request for ammo. Messages will pop up on the left of players’ screens. This new ping system will make communicating with teammates without a microphone a little easier.


Halo Reach Leaked PC Beta Will Have Players Banned

The first of a series of PC betas for Halo Reach took place over the weekend, and it has already been illegally distributed online. 343 Industries was quick to warn though that anyone who plays these illegal beta copies will have their accounts banned and might also be blocked from any beta tests in the future. More beta tests will be opened in the future to accommodate more players and give access to different parts of the game.


Void Bastard Gets Free Mode and Paid DLC

Void Bastard will be getting a couple of new content: a free challenge mode, and a paid DLC. The release dates for both are yet to be announced. The challenge mode will put players in different scenarios such as using stealth to make their way past “super tough enemies.” As for the paid DLC, it is set to add a new organization that comes with a new opponent, new ships, as well as “never-before-seen rewards.”


Police Stories Coming to Consoles

Mighty Morgan Studios has announced the release date for its tactical top-down shooter Police Stories. The game will be launching on September 19th, and will be available for players on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is inspired by SWAT 4, and boasts itself as “a fresh take on top-down shooters.” The game will challenge players into not using violence. Instead, players will be taking into consideration the behavior of suspects, and take them down as quietly as possible.


Age of Empires Still Gets Over 1 Million Players a Month

22 years since the first Age of Empires game released, the franchise is still going strong with over a million players still playing every month. “We have over a million people a month playing Age of Empires games, and the numbers keep going up,” according to Age of Empires series creative director Adam Isgreen. This shows how the franchise has built a solid fanbase. This is good news as well since Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition is launching sometime this year.


Ion Maiden Development Almost Done

It looks like Ion Maiden is well on its way for launch! 3D Realms VP Frederik Schreiber retweeted a Tweet from the game’s Twitter handle that an announcement about the game will be coming on July 11th. “You don’t want to miss this!” the Tweet says. Some are saying July 11th could also be Ion Maiden’s official release date, but until that day we would have to wait and see.


The Outer Worlds Has Two Main Endings

The Outer Worlds has two main endings, according to game director Leonard Boyarsky. He added that the endings will have a lot of variations which will depend on players’ choices in the game. The results of players’ actions as well as the consequences of their choices will be appearing in a series of slides similar to that of Fallout: New Vegas. The Outer Worlds will be out in October of this year.


Blizzard Plans to Introduce Role Lock in Overwatch League

Blizzard is planning to introduce a role lock which will have teams pick two DPS heroes, two supports, and two tanks, according to report by esports site Upcomer. The report mentioned that this role lock will be introduced during the start of this season’s fourth stage beginning this July. This role lock was also mentioned by retired Overwatch pro Baek “Fissure” Chan-hyung saying, “I’m retired now so I’ll say it. Next stage, stage 4, 2-2-2 lock is decided.”


PES 2020 PC Demo to Take Place July 30th

The PC demo for Konami’s PES 2020 is coming on July 30th. The demo will be available via Steam. This demo will release alongside the demo for consoles. The PES 2020 demo will feature Quick Play as well as Co-op for online matches. It will also give players a chance to try Edit Mode – this is the first time this mode will be included in a demo in the history of the franchise. The demo will also include 14 licensed teams including C Barcelona, Arsenal FC, Palmeiras, Flamengo, and Sao Paulo.


New Multiplayer Space FPS Boundary Announced

Surgical Scalpels has announced its new game, Boundary. This game is described as a multiplayer physics-based FPS which is based in space. Players will play as armed astronauts who are engaging in zero-gravity fights in space. The game features 6 Astronaut classes, fully-customizable loadouts, weapons, and ammo. There are different modes including Team Deathmatch, Free For All, Facility Capture, and Orbital Purge. The game will launch first on the PS4 with a PC version following at a later date.


Final Fantasy 8 Remaster to Feature English/Japanese Voices

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered Will feature Japanese/English voices! This is going to be an interesting feature as the original game did not contain any dubs, so this will be the first time we will hear the voices of Squall, Rinoa, Quistis, and all the other characters. The game will also feature subtitles in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. It is not clear at this time whether the voices will be used in FMV sequences only, or for dialogues in the entire game.


Remedy Now Owns Alan Wake Publishing Rights

The publishing rights for Alan Wake has now been reverted to Remedy. This is according to a report by Global Newswire which stated that the company earned 2.5 million Euros in royalties. Having the publishing rights for Alan Wake will mean that Alan Wake 2 could be a possibility since Remedy revealed in a previous interview that they were working on a sequel but things did not go as planned. The company is currently working on the supernatural action-adventure Control.


NBA 2K20 Cover Athletes Unveiled

The cover athletes for NBA 2K20 have been revealed! Anthony Davis will be gracing the covers of the game’s Standard and Deluxe Editions, while Dwayne Wade will be the cover athlete for the game’s Legend Edition. Davis was previously featured in the cover of NBA 2K16 alongside Stephen Curry and James Harden. Dwayne Wade marks his first year of retirement from the sport in the 2019-2020 NBA Season. NBA 2K20 launches September 6th.

Depths of Skyrim Mod Gives the Game an Underwater Overhaul

Skyrim’s underwater environment is getting some love, thanks to a mod named Depths of Skyrim. This mod introduces new types of kelp and grass, over a thousand new fish, forests of coral, hidden treasure, and even horkers. Depths of Skyrim is also compatible with other underwater mods such as the popular Realistic Water 2. This mod ia available via Nexxus Mods.


World of Warships Legends Adds New Campaign and More in Update

World of Warships: Legends will be getting a new Early Access update that will bring more content to the game. The update will be adding the German fleet which comes with seven new commanders including Graf Maximilian von Spee. The German fleet also comes with Cruiser-class ships, with more ships being added in August. The update also adds a new campaign called Search and Destroy!, which comes with new rewards and challenges. A 4th of July Liberty Pack will also be added to celebrate the occasion.
