My Friend Pedro Sells 250,000 in One Week

It has only been a week since My Friend Pedro launched, and the game has already sold 250,000 copies on PC and Nintendo Switch. The game was first announced at E3 2018. It is a side-scroller where players plot out action scenes, then engage them as they go through various levels, shooting their way as well as getting some acrobatics, crazy antics, and some slow-mo along the way.


Nintendo Limits Levels Players Can Upload in Super Mario Maker 2

Nintendo has limited the number of levels players can upload at the same time in Super Mario Maker 2. There is no clear reason behind this, but one Reddit userā€™s theory is that Nintendo limited the number of uploads from the original 100 down to 32 so thereā€™s a decrease on the load on the gameā€™s servers. Nintendo must have anticipated the huge turnout of players. The company is yet to confirm this, though.


Co-op Horror Game The Blackout Club Fully Launches in July

Co-op horror game The Blackout Club launched on Steam Early Access back in October 2018, and finally, after a few months, the game is ready for its full launch. The game will be officially launching on July 30th. The full launch will include fixes and polishes, as well as a new large above-ground region. The Blackout Club tells the story of a group of kids who are investigating their mysterious and spooky neighborhood.


PUBG Gets Auto-Equip Attachments Feature

The latest quality of life patch for Playerunknownā€™s Battlegrounds in consoles includes the new auto-equip attachments feature. This feature is not yet available in the gameā€™s PC version. The feature works similarly to Apex Legendsā€™. PUBG Corp. says this feature will make looting more efficient.ā€ It has three available options: Auto Equip Attachments, Auto Equip Scope, and Auto Replace Attachments. All three options can be enabled or disabled.


EA Access for PS4 Launches July 24th

EA Access is finally going to be available for PS4 users starting July 24th. The service is only currently available for players on PC and Xbox One. PS4 users can subscribe to the service starting at $4.99 per month, or $29.99 for a year. EA Access coming to the PS4 in July is just in time for the upcoming release of Madden NFL 20 which will be on August 2nd. Subscribers to the service will get to play upcoming games earlier than everyone else.


Crackdown 3 Adds a Wingsuit in New Update

Microsoft has released a new update for Crackdown 3 for this month. The update, called Flying High, adds a wingsuit as well as 16 more achievements. The update also adds the Clusterduck grenade, Hellstorm Flare to call for air-strikes, the Agency Peacekeeper Beacon for calling backup civilians, and the Elemental Forge. The Flying High update is free for all players of the game.


Hunt: Showdown Leaves Early Access in August

Hunt: Showdown launched in early access last year, and finally the game is ready for a full launch. Starting August 20th, the game will be leaving early access, and aside from launching in digital form, it will also be available in physical discs courtesy of publisher Koch Media. Players who purchased the game during its early access run will receive a legendary weapon skin. The game is also expected to launch on PlayStation 4 this fall.


Apex Legendsā€™ Season 2 Battle Pass Challenges Explained

Respawn Entertainment has revealed more details about how challenges will work in Season 2 of Apex Legends. The Season 2 Battle Pass will include both daily and weekly challenges. Three challenges from a pool of two hundred will be assigned to each player every day. There will be two weekly challenges as well. The first one will be a repeating quest that players will need to complete each week. The second will be the same for everybody but will change each week. Completing daily and weekly challenges will reward 3000 and 9000 STARS each respectively.


Days Gone Challenge Mode Released

A standalone Challenge Mode was added to Days Gone in its latest free content update. The mode will feature twelve different weekly challenges with the first one arriving together with the update. Dubbed ā€œSurroundedā€, the first challenge will have players taking on endless waves of Freakers, adding more time to the countdown timer every time one is eliminated. Players will have to use not only their weapons but also traps and the environment to effectively deal with the hordes. New challenges will unlock every Friday.


Hitman 2ā€™s New Elusive Target, The Entertainer, Revealed

Io Interactive has released the full mission briefing for Hitman 2ā€™s latest elusive target ā€” The Entertainer. Players will need to complete two objectives for this mission. The first is to eliminate the Elusive Target, Mr Giggles. Second is to locate and obtain the targetā€™s Client List. The Client List wonā€™t be on the target himself. Instead, youā€™ll need to retrieve it from his secretary. As usual, players will only get one chance to complete the mission and earn the Summer Suit with Gloves costume.


PUBG Gets New Vehicle and Parkour Feature

The latest update for PlayerUnknownā€™s Battlegrounds is live now on PC. Patch 30 introduces a new ledge grab mechanic that will allow players to run on any wall, roof, or ledge. Players can also jump towards ledges then make their way easily to the roof of buildings, making scaling walls and even jumping through windows a lot easier. The update also adds the Russian infantry fighting vehicle, BRDM-2, and a new handgun called Deagle which is based on the iconic Desert Eagle. No announcements have been made for other platforms.


Apex Legendā€™s Season 2 Challenges and Rewards Announced

Respawn has officially announced Apex Legendā€™s Season 2 challenges and rewards. From what has been described, it is safe to say this set of challenges is a big upgrade to that of the preceding season. Season Oneā€™s battle pass was criticized for being rather unexciting. The developers promise a more complex battle pass with daily and weekly challenges. The devs also provided a very detailed explanation as to how the pass works so, players need not seek clarity elsewhere.


Gloomhaven Early Access Teaser Released

Flaming Fowl Studios has released an early access launch trailer for Gloomhaven ahead of its July 17 release. The teaser trailer is laden with turn-based tactical brawls similar to the ones you will be having next month. Critic claim it is looking to be one of the best board-games around, which is not far-fetched if the gameplay is as advertised. Get ready to guide your band of mercenaries through the caverns of unwelcoming dungeons in search of loot and adventure.


Final Fantasy XIV DDoS Attack

The new Shadowbringers expansion went live recently and players have been subjected to frequent errors ever since. According to the developer, this is due to a DDoS attack that they have been working earnestly to combat. The issue has been impacting North American servers mostly where droves of players report login problems, disconnection issues, and in-game data loss abounding for the duration. Hopefully, Square Enix will be able to rectify the issue soon.


Halo Reach PC Insider Flighting Beta Phase Launched

Microsoft and 343 Industries have officially announced that the first insider flighting beta phase for the first Halo game that will be released on the PC through the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Halo Reach, has been launched. The developers have also released a new official video from the PC version of Halo Reach in celebration of this joyous announcement. The 17-minute video showcases the Halo: Reach campaign mission ā€œTip of the Spearā€ at 4K resolution with 60fps on PC.


My Friend Pedro Patch 1.02 Launched

DeadToast Entertainment has released the first post-launch patch for its action-shooter, My Friend Pedro. Based on the release notes, update 1.02 completely unlocks the framerate and improves upon support for Ultrawide aspect ratios. In addition, this patch features Vsync as a graphics setting, adds Milliseconds to the Level timer, resets leaderboards and improves Traditional and Simplified Chinese support. The game is off to a solid start having sold over 250,000 units in its first week.


Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Get New Update

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is poised to receive an update on July 3. According to Activision, the patch is geared towards supplying additional content and fixing a save data issue that PlayStation 4 players have been reporting. The issue is that the save data file becomes corrupt if the data for race ghosts in Time Trials becomes too large. The developers recommend that players desist from playing the playing Time Trials until the issue has been rectified.


Nightwolf Teased as next MK11 DLC

NetherRealm chief Ed Boon recently published a tweet in which he teased the next Mortal Kombat 11 DLC to join the roster of lethal characters. The tweet showed a still image of character readily identifiable as Nightwolf, captioned ā€œAnd now a taste of things to komeā€¦ā€ Now players look forward to playing as the great Nightwolf, the Native American shaman and historian who is chosen as a warrior of Earthrealm during Shao Kahnā€™s invasion.


Blue Protocol Announced

Bandai Namco has officially announced a new action-role-playing game for PC called Blue Protocol. It is being developed by a new internal team called Project Sky Blue, comprised of talented developers from Bandai Namco Online and Bandai Namco Studios. It is being developed on the Unreal Engine 4 so it is expected to be graphically appealing given the capacity of the engine. There was no released date divulged but players look forward to the day they will unite a world ā€œon the brink of devastation.ā€


Paul Cunningham Designs Banjo-Kazooie

Banjo and Kazooie will be gracing the Smash universe with their presence courtesy of Rareā€™s Paul Cunninghamā€™s awe-inspiring character design. According to Rare, they have been hard at work coming up with different movesets and musical choices for a while year. With that amount of invested effort, fans reckon the Bear and Bird combo will be a welcomed addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The game is currently available for the Nintendo Switch.


Police Stories Console Release Date Announced

Mighty Morgan has officially announced that their strategy simulation game, Police Stories is coming to consoles. For those who donā€™t already know, Police Stories is a unique perspective on top-down shooters that places emphasis on tactics and forces players to make split-second game-changing decisions. The developers also sternly affirm that shooting first is not an option. As of September 19, 2019, Police Stories will be available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC.


Split-Screen ā€œTemporarilyā€ Removed from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Treyarch reportedly removed the Blackout split-screen from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 last week but never announced that they were going to do so. As expected, players uncovered this to be the case and quickly took to social media where they sought after a rational of sorts from the developers. The developers obliged and stated that they had ā€œtemporarilyā€ disabled the split-screen to evaluate some known issues. However, Treyarch never said how long it would be before the option returns.
