Bethesda E3 2019 Press Conference Highlights

Shodan/ Giugno 14, 2019/ All Key Shop

Bethesda took a good chunk of time trying to build goodwill with their players this E3, showing videos thanking fans and putting them in focus. That’s not surprising, though, given how bad the reputation of the publisher has become lately. But, they also did have a lot of things to share during their press conference. In case you missed it, here are the highlights:

FALLOUT 76

Project leader Jeff Gardner and co-studio director Tom Mustaine took the stage to talk about what’s next for Fallout 76. The upcoming Wastelanders update is set to bring major changes to the game. Human NPCs are coming back and they’ll come with branching choices with consequences. A new main quest will also be added and, of course, new weapons and gear. Check out the update’s teaser below:

Gardner and Mustaine also revealed a new 52-player battle royale mode called Nuclear Winter. In won’t be pure PvP though, as monsters from the wasteland will also join in to make the battle even more chaotic. Here’s our first look:

Fallout 76, including Nuclear Winter, is free to try on all platforms until June 17th.

GHOSTWIRE TOKYO

Here’s the girl who stole the heart of the internet at E3 — Ikumi Nakamura. She came to the show to promote Tango Gameworks next game, Ghostwire Tokyo. The game itself looks promising, but Nakamura’s undeniable charm definitely added to the hype. You can see what I’m talking about below:

THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE

Bethesda showed off a new story trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online that revealed the return of a legendary Red Guard swordmaster who is now part of the Dragon Guard. It also features a huge, menacing wyvern, this being the Season of Dragons and all. You can watch the full trailer below:

The trailer serves as a prelude to the upcoming story DLC called Dragonhold which releases in the fourth quarter of the year. A dungeon DLC called Scalebreaker will release in August.

RAGE 2

Rage 2 will be getting new cheat codes, a couple of new vehicles, a new pilotable mech, new game modes, new story content, and a whole lot more in a new expansion called Rise of the Ghosts. Have a gander of all the cool stuff coming in the expansion in the trailer below:

The expansion is set to arrive later this year.

WOLFENSTEIN YOUNGBLOOD

Machine Games premiered a new trailer for co-op spin-off, Wolfenstein Youngblood. It’s still filled with lots of Nazi-killing, but this time you can bring a friend along for the ride. Check out the new trailer below:

The game is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch on July 26th.

DEATHLOOP

Game director Dinga Bakaba and art director Sebastien Mitton from Arkane Lyon introduced their next first-person adventure on-stage at E3. From what we can gather from the trailer, it involves a couple of assassins repeatedly going at each other’s throats in the titular Deathloop. Here’s the game’s reveal trailer:

No release date or window was announced.

DOOM ETERNAL

Most likely the most anticipated game during the stream, The Elder Scrolls 6 being absent and all, Doom Eternal got a new story trailer that gave us a peek at why we’ll be blasting demons to pieces this time around. As previously revealed, the dev team has set out to give Doom a proper universe and lore and we get to see the results of their efforts start to take shape in the trailer below:

id Software also showed off 4 minutes of new gameplay footage. Enjoy it below:

The gameplay ends just as Doom Guy was getting ready to take on a mean-looking boss, but Bethesda says that the playable demo they brought to E3 will allow attendees to experience much more.

Before ending their Doom segment, id Software also gave us our first look at the all-new multiplayer experience coming with Doom Eternal. Here’s the teaser for Battlemode:

id Software has announced the game’s release date and you can expect to be wreaking havoc in hell and beyond on November 22nd. A collector’s edition was also revealed that includes a wearable Doom Guy helmet.

Bethesda also showed off a few mobile games — The Elder Scrolls Blades, Commander Keen, and The Elder Scrolls Legends — during the show. The publisher also revealed Orion, a new technology meant to optimize game engines for performance in cloud environments, be it in Stadia or other streaming services.

And that’s it for the Bethesda E3 2019 press conference highlights. It wasn’t as packed with announcements and reveals as other conferences, but it did have its moments. What was your favourite moment of the event?
