World of Warcraft Classic Release Date and Beta Details Announced

World of Warcraft Classic’s official release date has finally been announced and it is August 27, 2019. For those who don’t know, WOW Classic is WOW as it was at launch which is almost 15 years ago. WOW Classic will be included in everyone’s World of Warcraft subscription. The developers have also tagged May 15 as the date players will be able to access the closed beta. If you are a current subscriber you are in luck because only subscribers can opt into the closed beta.


Rockstar Acquires Dhruva Interactive from Starbreeze

Rockstar persists to make bold business moves as they have just purchased one of the biggest game art production houses in India, Dhruva Interactive. Starbreeze reportedly sold it for 7.9 million dollars. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the transaction has awarded Rockstar Starbreeze’s 91.82 percent of the company, which will now work in conjunction with Rockstar’s own studio in India. With this transaction, it is safe to assume the future is luminous for Rockstar.


Rogue-like Shooter Void Bastards Launching on May 29th

Blue Manchu is pleased to announce that on May 29, 2019, its strategy first-person-shooter game Void Bastards will grace the gaming world with its presence. The game was designed to force players to make fate-defining strategic decisions as they traverse an FTL-esque star-map littered with hazards or all kinds. Resources are dwindling, so much so that even the shots you fire must be 100% worth it as even those are limited. Void Bastards will be available for PC and attainable through Steam.


GTA 5 Nears 110 Million Copies Sold

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto has now sold almost 110 million copies since being released in September of 2013. It has now been 6 years and the game persists to sell well despite being released in the last console generation. On a recent earnings call, publisher Take-Two recently participated in an earnings call where the company stated that GTA 5 has outperformed so far this year, while its online component continues to grow with earnings exceeding expectations.


LOL Animation Removed Because of Risk of Epileptic Seizures

Riot recently removed a new League of Legends animation that could potentially trigger epileptic seizures. This action was taken swiftly after a League of Legends player made a post on one of the game’s forums, calling attention to the fact that said animation has been causing problems for those prone to photosensitive epileptic seizures. A League of Legends designer saw the post and apologized on half of the company and now the problematic animation is no more.


A Ubisoft Dev May have just Leaked New Splinter Cell Game

Ubisoft recently issued a statement saying that the tweets that were published regarding the possibility of a new splinter cell were not to be taken seriously. Reputable video game analysts IGN received an email from Ubisoft which read “Julian was obviously joking as Julian likes to do. It looks like our creative directors are having fun right now. We do not have any announcements to make at this time.” Fans will be disappointed but at least now there is no lingering false hope.


Project Prelude Rune Canceled, Dev Studio Closed

Square Enix has announced the cancellation of its role-playing game named Project Prelude Rune. The company also divulged that the team that had been working on the project has been disbanded with its members reallocated. This is certainly disappointing news for all the fans who were looking forward to the game but surely Square Enix had its reasons. Now all references to Project Prelude Rune have been stripped from Square Enix’s official channels as the fans say farewell.


Puzzle Game Figment to get ‘Encore’ DLC this Fall

Bedtime Digital Games is elated to announce that Figment is receiving an encore DLC. Bedtime Digital Games CEO Klaus Pederson provided players with a rationale for this addition when he said “With the reception we got from players that finished the game, we simply knew we had to take the stage again for an encore.” Now even more glee is headed the way of fans that indulge in the “beautiful action-adventure game” in fall of this year when the Figment: Creed Valley DLC drops.


SteamWorld Quest Heading to PC at the End of the Month

Image & Form’s latest role-playing card game in the SteamWorld series will be attainable for PC through the Steam Store on the last of this month. Thus far, no other platforms have been announced, but it is not so bad considering SteamWorld games have been available on PlayStation consoles. It is safe to speculate that this PC launch may lead to a wider release in the future. The game seems to be a ton of fun and hopefully, on the 31st the players’ experience will mirror the current perception.


Ancient Relics Story Pack Announced for Stellaris

A new story pack called Ancient Relics is coming to Stellaris. The DLC will focus on the mysteries and deep secrets of your empire’s planets. Players will be able to find relics through archaeological digs or get them as rewards for finishing adventures. Players will also be able to visit the homeworlds for the Zroni and the Baol, two extinct races to find out how they were wiped out. Paradox has not announced when the DLC will be launching.


Gears 5 Possible Leaks Reveals Box Art and Release Date

The Taiwanese game rating board may have just leaked some major details about Gears 5. The board’s website has posted the box art for the game which features Kait Diaz prominently in front. Locust Queen Myrrah is also on the cover, even though she supposedly died at the end of Gears 3. Meanwhile, Spanish gaming site Generacion Xbox says that the game will launch on September 10th. It’s hard to decipher where the site got the info, but Microsoft did confirm that the game will come out this year. We probably find out more at E3.


Ubisoft Reveals New Operator Named Nøkk

Ubisoft shared a teaser trailer for a new operator coming to Rainbow Six Siege Operation Phantom Sight. The video trailer features Danish Jægerkorpset Operator Nøkk as well as her unique gadget ability. The trailer doesn’t actually reveal very much but if you would want to get the full details of this operator, the full reveal will happen on May 19th during the Pro League Finals in Milan. Ubisoft describes Nøkk as an operative that is somewhat like a ghost, and opponents should be scared.


Saints Row: The Third Nintendo Switch Edition Launched With Some Issues

Just recently, Saints Row: The Third had been launched for the Nintendo Switch as a Full Package edition. The game however launched with some problems like frame-rate dips, some input lag and so much more. Publisher Deep Silver heard the complaints and promises to release a range of fixes for the game and their top agenda would be the resolution and performance tweaks. They are also encouraging players who encounter problems to report it to their tech team so that a fix would be created.


Bandai Namco Financial Report Shared, Video Games Biggest Contributor

Bandai Namco has finished their financial report for the year and their consolidated net sales rose by 8 percent year-over-year. The biggest part of the company’s earnings are from the Network Entertainment segment which includes video game operations which was able to see a rise of 4.4 percent year-on-year. The games with the most impact include Soulcalibur VI, Ace Combat 7 and Jump Force. No exact figures were given but the sales of home console games had a total of 27.6 million units.


Terraria Developers Vows Not To Be A Part Of Epic Store Exclusives

Re-Logic, the studio behind the game Terraria said that they will never make their games a part of the Epic Store exclusives. The studio’s vice president Whitney Spinks posted in a tweet that “There is no amount of money we could be offered to sell our souls”, with regard to the Epic Store exclusives. This was a response to the concerns of Terraria players as the studio will be making an appearance at the PC Games Show at E3. Players can rest assured that it will not be a part of Epic Store.

Apex Legends, the free-to-play game for PS4 owners is giving additional perks for those who are subscribed to PlayStation Plus. Don’t Starve New DLC Hamlet Out Now

Klei Entertainment’s third DLC for Don’t Starve is now out of early access and has launched fully. The expansion is called Hamlet and it adds a new biome to the game having new wildlife and seasons. Players will get to see notable landmarks and ruins that have treasures that are guarded by traps. The ruins are actually a part of the ancient pig civilization. A secluded town can also be seen, this is where the aristocratic Pigmen live. New crafting, recipes, and ingredients are also added.


PUBG New Patch Launched For Vikendi Map

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds launched a new patch on the game’s test servers for PC which balances the Vikendi map. The patch is about 4 GB and some of the biggest features that it offers are better markers on the map, minimap update, spawn rate and more. The markers on the map are now more specific with six options which are attack, danger, defend, loot, regroup and vehicle; the minimap now easily shows where your teammates are. Ubisoft CEO Announced That They Will Be Having More Content Drops And Events

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has said that they will be making more effort to have more content drops just like Fortnite. Guillemot specifically mentioned Rainbow Six Siege as well as the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint but also said that it will be for other games under them. Guillemot did recognize that more content drops and events are a current trend in the industry and are making players come back to games as well as “spend money in them”. No further detail was given.


Ubisoft’s Pirate Game Skull And Bones Is Pushed Back

Pirate game Skull and Bones from Ubisoft will be delayed to April 2020. The game had been announced during E3 2017 but so far there are no specific launch dates or beta testing available for it. The Skull and Bones Twitter said that the delay for the game is because they would want for it to be “as awesome as it can be”. They are also focusing more on the game’s quality first and they thanked everyone for the undying support. Ubisoft additionally reported that the game won’t be at E3 2019.


Skyrim Mod Had Mod Maker In Legal Trouble

Do you remember the Thomas the Tank Engine mod for Skyrim in 2013? Apparently the mod maker, Kevin Brock had been in legal trouble for using Thomas’ image in the game. Because of what happened, the situation actually had been made into an iconic joke. Mattel the owner of the image of Thomas had lawyers go after Brock saying that he diminished the Thomas brand by having him blow up in the mod. The law firm was based in Macedonia, and they issued takedown notices to the mod maker.


Walking Dead Onslaught To Launch By Fall This Year

A new Walking Dead game had been announced and it is called Walking Dead: Onslaught. The game is a PS VR title and is based on the hit TV show. This is actually a bold move for developer’s Survios since all the other studios that made Walking Dead games are having bad luck with the title. Onslaught will have some of the main characters of the TV show which includes Rick, Daryl, Michonne, and Carol. Walking Dead Onslaught is set to launch sometime in the Fall of this year.
