Shovel Knight Follow-up Cyber Shadow Unveiled

After spending a decade in development, Aarne “MekaSkull” Hunziker and Yacht Club Games have finally unveiled the long-awaited follow-up to Shovel Knight, the side-scrolling platformer Cyber Shadow. Very little is known about the game at this time, but basing on its trailer, it features retro-style graphics and is very reminiscent of the NES era. Cyber Shadow will be launching for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Yacht Club has not announced a release date at this time.


Sunless Skies Gets Its Wayfarer Update Next Month

Sunless Skies players will get “more to see and do during voyages” as Failbetter Games will be launching a brand new update for the game on April 9th. The Wayfarer Update will focus on the Albion map which has been completely reworked with additional terrains, more variety of alien species, discoveries and space locomotives among other things. The Wayfarer update also brings more stories as well as encounters to the game.


Overcooked 2 is Getting a Camping Themed DLC

Overcooked 2 is getting a new DLC on April 8th, and it’s camping themed. The upcoming expansion is called Campfire Cook Off. It is a mini adventure which has 12 levels, four additional playable chefs, and two new meal types. The DLC will come as part of the game’s Season Pass, but players can also buy it separately for $5.99.


Ubisoft’s E3 2019 Press Briefing Takes Place on June 10th

Ubisoft has announced via Twitter that it will be holding its press briefing for this years Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, on Monday, June 10th. The show starts at exactly 1 PM PDT, which translates to 9 PM BST or 10 PM CEST. Fans are expecting several surprises from the publisher at this year’s show since the only games we know of that’s in their cooking pot are Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Skull and Bones. A surprise announcement or 2 will definitely be welcome.


Divinity: Fallen Heroes Announced

Larian Studios is mixing things up in the Divinity series as they’ve announced that the next entry will be a tactical game with RPG elements. Dubbed “Divinity Fallen Heroes”, the game promises to “delve deeper than ever-before” into the world of Rivellon. Players will be able to “recruit troops, research gear, and level up heroes”. The game will also be bringing guns into the universe, plus a new element called Sulfurium. The game will be playable in co-op.


Black Ops 4 Update 1.16 Out Now on PS4

Update 1.16 for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is now live on PlayStation 4. The update brings the new “Ancient Evil” content for Zombies where players fight off the undead in the underground city of Delphi. Multiplayer purists will be happy with the addition of “Barebones” which offers 6v6 battles with no Specialist skills gear or weaponry, just classic multiplayer action. Meanwhile, Blackout now has co-pilot support for vehicles. The update will come to PC and Xbox One at a later date.


Enter the Gungeon’s Free Update, Farewell to Arms, Arrives This April

Enter the Gungeon will be receiving its last content update on April 5th. Devolver Digital took to Twitter with the announcement saying that the “A Farewall to Arms” update will serve as the conclusion of the three-year-old game that has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. Designer Dave Crooks told the PlayStation Blog that they wanted to make sure the game “went out with a bang.” The update will add two new playable characters, dozens of new guns and items, a new secret floor hiding a new boss, and a new NPC.


Dota Auto Chess Teases New Chess Pieces Coming Soon

Drodostudio is teasing that two new hero units are coming to their immensely popular Dota 2 mod, Dota Auto Chess. The teaser came in the form of two silhouettes, who from the looks of it are the Dota heroes Zeus and Mars. Zeus is made obvious by the lightning in the background while Mars is carrying his signature spear and shield. No details have been announced but it’s like these two will be new rare pieces with Zeus playing as a Mage while Mars will either be a Warrior or a Knight.


Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Let Players Play Co-op with Its Buddy Pass

Bethesda wants fans to enjoy the first Wolfenstein co-op experience the way it should be played so they’re bundling up a “buddy pass” to the Wolfenstein Youngblood Deluxe Edition. Anybody with the buddy pass can play the entirety of the game as long as they play it with the owner of the buddy pass. It can also be shared with as many people as players like, but only one person can play with the owner of the buddy pass at a time. Wolfenstein Youngblood is set to launch on July 26th.


State of Decay’s Choose Your Own Apocalypse Update Out Now

Microsoft has released State of Decay 2’s Choose Your Own Apocalypse update. The update adds two ominous difficulty modes on top of the game’s entry level. The difficulty modes will serve as an endurance test for hardcore gamers as zombies don armor, they come in larger hordes, and they carry a faster-acting blood plague infection. The update also adds game improvements such as the ability to select a map when creating a new community, new character manager, and more.


Cosmic Horror Game Moons of Madness to Launch This Halloween

This Halloween, Funcom will be launching its upcoming cosmic horror game Moons of Madness. The game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is set in a not-so-distant future in Mars, where players will explore the planet as Shane Newehart who’s a technician stationed at a secret research base called Invictus. Newehart’s job is to keep the lights on until the transport ship Cyrano arrives, but will be met with malfunctions, missing teammates, and more.


SteamWorld Quest Release Date Announced

Image & Form recently announced that Steam World Quest will be available exclusively through the Nintendo eShop as of April 25, 2019. This card-based role-playing-game will persist being a Nintendo Switch exclusive going forward. “I’m confident that fans of RPGs and previous SteamWorld games will adore SteamWorld Quest because it’s an absolute gem,” Image & Form CEO Brjánn Sigurgeirsson said. The CEO also highlighted the fact that the game is being released ahead of schedule.


Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Debuts at the Top of the UK Sales Charts

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has shot atop the UK charts for most in-store sales. This was the title’s first week of being released so while the initial influx of players certainly contributed, it is an incredible feat regardless. From Software’s action-adventure game is trailed by The Division 2 which was also recently released. In the third position is FIFA 19 then Grand Theft Auto V which is followed by Red Dead Redemption 2. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.


Halo: The Master Chief Collection Could Release in Full This Year

According to Co-developer Splash Damage, Halo: The Master Chief Collection could be out in full this year. Recently a confirmation came by word of Halo’s developers that the titles in the Master Chief Collection will be released one by one as opposed to being dropped all at once. The dates for each release is yet to be divulged but a recent Splash Damage newsletter hinted that the collection could be released in full before the year concludes.


Mechstermination Force Launches on the Switch on April 4th

Hörberg Productions has finally confirmed April 4 to be the release date for Mechstermination Force. This will serve as exciting news for fans of said developer’s work as this will be their first title being released since Gunman Clive 2 of 2015. With this announcement also came a gameplay trailer which did justice in giving players a sound introduction to what the game entails. Thus far, it appears Mechstermination Force will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive title.


Magic: The Gathering Arena Gets New Player Experience Update

Wizards of the Coast has released a new update for Magic: The Gathering Arena which will debut alongside the first ever Mythic Invitational event at PAX East. This new update features fully reworked on-boarding process to the game, practice matches and a new cosmetic system. The Magic: The Gathering Mythic Invitational will undoubtedly turn heads as it has a one million dollar prize pool attached. Dance Central to Launch on Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift

Harmonix Music Systems has announced that Dance Central will be coming to Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift in Spring of this year. This is the franchise’s first dive into synchronous online multiplayer. Meet with friends in the lounge to party and to show off your personalized avatar, and dance to your heart’s content. You can compete against your friends in free-for-all or team dance games to prove that you are the best dancer in the squad. Dance Central was also available to play at PAX East Oculus booth.


Warlander Announced

Clock Drive Games has announced that Warlander is coming to PC via Steam in the third quarter of this year. Set in a perilous world, this action game allows players to customize their combat style through an in-game progression system. Warlander will also garner much interest as it combines story-driven adventure with fast-paced swordplay. It brandishes precision slicing accented by ragdoll physics. All this aids in providing players a brutal and visceral combat experience.


World War Z’s New Tokyo Map Revealed

World War Z developer, Saber Interactive has released a new trailer showcasing the next episode that will be playable in World War Z. Matthew Karch, who is the CEO of Saber Interactive said, “We’ve had such a positive response to the content that we decided to expand the core game and make four episodes spanning eleven levels available at launch.” Said episode will be taking place in the new Tokyo Map which was also wonderfully displayed in the trailer.


Dead or Alive 6 World Championship to Begin Next Month

The Dead or Alive 6 World Championship will be commencing in the coming month. For those who aren’t aware yet, The World Championship is a global esports competition with qualifiers to be held across the United States, Europe, and Asia. The top ten qualifiers from each region will then go head to head live at the finals in Japan for the equivalent of 10 million yen in total cash and prizes. A Fold Apart to Launch in June 2019

Lightning Rod Games has released a touching new teaser trailer for their award-winning upcoming title A Fold Apart. The game is about a couple that is experiencing the joys and sorrows of a long-distance relationship. Players are tasked with using a unique paper folding game mechanic to guide the two characters together. The game concept is heartwarming and the trailer confirms that the game is equally as such. A Fold Apart will launch in June for Nintendo Switch and PC.


Endless Space 2’s Free Muck & Makers Update Out Now

Games2Gether has released a free Muck & Makers update for Endless Space 2. According to the developer, Games2Gether is a video game co-creation platform, on which the developers work in conjunction with the community. This platform also serves as a hub for a lot of free content and the Muck & Makers update is an example of said content. To claim this update, log onto Games2Gether then select the update from the rewards page, and the update will install immediately on your Steam account.
