Resident Evil 2’s 1-Shot Demo is Live

The 1-shot demo for Resident Evil 2 is now live. Those who want to sample the remake’s gameplay can head over to Steam to get it. The demo will require a 7.2 gigabyte download and can only be played once in a maximum of 30 minutes. Don’t worry though as the timer won’t start until you’re done tinkering with the controls and other settings. Once the player is done with their single playthrough of the demo, they’ll get treated to a demo-exclusive trailer. The demo will be available until January 31st.


Katana Zero Devs Target March 2019 PC Launch

Katana Zero, the 16-bit styled retro action-platformer featuring a woman with a Katana, now has a target release timeframe. Developer Askiisoft says they’re pushing for a March 2019 release for PC. He also apologized for the delay, saying it’s a mixed blessing as the extra time allowed him the chance to add in new stages that are essential to the game. No specifics have been revealed for console ports yet, although he did say earlier to expect a “console announcement in the next month or so.”


Office Life Platformer Klaus Launches January 24th on PC

Puzzle-platformer Klaus is headed to Steam. The game was released for the PlayStation 4 back in 2016 and will finally be available on PC come January 24th. Klaus tells the story of an office worker who finds himself in a strange basement with no memory and a tattoo of the word “Klaus” on his arm. It features over a hundred rooms spread across thirty-four levels and six worlds. There are also a bunch of hidden levels to discover, and a speedrunning mode that unlocks after you beat the main story.


The Elder Scrolls: Legends – Isle of Madness Expansion Goes Live January 24th

The next story expansion for The Elder Scrolls Legends has been announced. It is called Isle of Madness and will take players to Sheogorath to meet the Daedric Prince of Madness. The expansion will introduce Double Cards. As the name suggests, these are cards that split into two different cards when drawn. Two new lane conditions called Dementia and Mania will also be added, with the former favoring the owner of the most powerful creature, while the latter benefits the owner of the creature with the most health.


Fallout 76 Players Discover Secret “Dev Room” with Human NPC and Unreleased Items

A secret dev room that contains the game’s only human NPC and various items, including unreleased ones, has been discovered in Fallout 76. Eurogamer reports that some players have known about the room for several weeks and have managed to figure out a way to get in. They’ve also uncovered a means to get out with the unreleased loot in tow. These methods may involve mods though. Dev rooms were also found in both Fallout 4 and Skyrim, but they were only accessible through the cheat console, which Fallout 76 does not have.


Total War: Three Kingdoms Trailer Showcases Game’s World

Creative Assembly has released a new cinematic trailer that displays the beautiful word of Total War: Three Kingdoms. In the trailer you can experience a scenic tour of 190CE China. The trailer gave a detailed view of the rich and tranquil landscape, that was once a blood-soaked battlefield. Creative Assembly welcomes you to a new era of legendary conquest in their multi award-winning strategy series. Total War: Three Kingdoms is scheduled for release on March 7, 2019 for PC.


Black Ops 4 is PS Store’s Most Downloaded Game for 2018

Treyarch now boasts that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is the PlayStation Store’s most downloaded game of last year. Treyarch released Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on October 12, 2018 and as expected, It garnered a lot of attention as there is a multitude of loyal COD fans. The game finished the year at the top of the leader-boards tailed by Red Dead Redemption 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man. Whether or not it will be number one in 2019 is unknown but it certainly carried good momentum into the new year.


Destiny 2 Won’t Be Leaving Battle.Net Just Yet

Destiny 2 is not parting ways with Blizzard’s BattleNet launcher anytime soon. This is very good news for the players as their game time will go unperturbed by the divergence of Activision and Bungie. This came to light when Activision released a tweet that read “Thank you Guardians. It’s been an honor and a privilege to help bring the world of Destiny to life for you”. The tweet featured a joint statement by both Activision and Bungie that spoke to Destiny 2’s future.


DC Universe Online Celebrates 8th Anniversary with In-Game Event and Freebies

Daybreak Game Company is celebrating DC Universe Online’s 8th Anniversary. In a celebratory effort, the company announces that it will be issuing special in-game gifts and releasing an all-new in-game event. Log in between now and January 31, 2019 to claim your free CR210 Character Advance which accompanies the new and House of El 2019 gear suit and Episode 30: Earth 3. Members get special gifts if they adhere by the same procedure. If you are not yet a member, you may upgrade to that status for immediate benefits.


Breach Introduces Worldshaper Veil Demon Class

There will be a new Wordshaper veil demon class joining Breach. QC Games released a new trailer which featured game-play of the new class. The narrator explained that this veil demon has a unique play-style, in that it enables players to possess any monster. The trailer also featured the character’s crowd control dense kit. The Veil Demon is immortal which suggests that it will be a constant catalyst of despair and annoyance to other players. The Worldshaper is one of six different classes.


Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2’s Second Pre-order Beta Starts January 15th

Tindalos Interactive will hold a second pre-order beta for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 ahead of it’s January 24th launch. The pre-order beta will be running from January 15th up until the 24th. The beta features the start of the Imperial and Necron campaigns. Players can expect all the multiplayer and skirmish options which include 12 playable factions, ranked play, the 80+ subfactions, and custom map options with special environmental effects from the first beta.


DUSK Has Sold Over 69,000 Copies

New Blood Interactive is proud to announce that its throwback FPS DUSK has sold 69, 420 copies since its launch. New Blood Interactive producer Dave Oshry shared the good news on Twitter, saying he was going to wait until they reach 100,000 in sales, but 69,420 copies is still an awesome number – “ON BRAND” to them as it gets, he says. DUSK released back in December 2018 and has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam.


Psychological Horror Game Devotion Coming to Steam

Taiwanese studio Red Candle Games, the company behind the horror game Detention, has a new game and it’s set to release on Steam on February 15th. The new game is titled Devotion, a psychological horror game that lets players explore a 1980’s Taiwanese apartment complex where the building “gradually shifts into a hellish nightmare.” The game’s story revolves around a family of three who have different religious beliefs of their own, and have made vows according to their beliefs.


DICE Fixes Battlefield 5’s Company Coin Issue

DICE is issuing a fix for an issue on Battlefield 5 which prevents players who have attained the max Career Rank of 50 from continuing earning Company Coin. This glitch apparently prevented players from spending their hard-earned coins on what they wanted. The issue is quite complex, but DICE is assuring players that they are on it, and a fix will be issued as soon as it’s available, and that players who were affected will be rewarded retroactively.


New Dead or Alive 6 Trailer Gives Fans an Overview of Its Basic Mechanics

Dead or Alive 6 will launch on March 1st, and Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer which gives new players a headstart on learning the game’s fundamentals. The trailer revolves around the game’s Triangle system, where Holds beat Strikes, Strikes beat Throws, and Throws beat Holds. Players will notice these patterns as they take on different opponents. Dead or Alive 6 is set for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.


Celeste’s DLC Won’t Be Available on Its Anniversary

Late last year, news of Celeste getting new, difficult levels through a DLC have surfaced, but very little details were given. Now, thanks to a tweet by the game’s creator Matt Thorson, we have a better idea on when we can expect it. The bad news is that it won’t be launching on the game’s anniversary on January 25th. Thorson did not specify a release window, though. The DLC will also be one continuous chapter and is after the current hardest levels in difficulty. There won’t be strawberries, there will be some new mechanics and items, and is free on all platforms.


Awesome Games Done Quick Charity Event Raises Over 2.3 Million Dollars

The annual speedrunning event Awesome Games Done Quick has successfully raised funds for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This year, the event has raised 2.3 million Dollars. This year’s numbers beat last year’s where the event raised 2.2 million Dollars. This year’s event took place from January 6th until the 13th. Speedrunning participants raced through titles such as Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Bloodborne, and many more. The next event, Summer Games Done Quick, will be held from June 23 to 30.


Kizuna Encounter Returns on Modern Platforms

Kizuna Encounter might have been forgotten already, but thanks to Hamster, the old-school game is now available on modern platforms. through the Neo Geo Classics range, Kizuna Encounter is now available on PlayStation 4 in Japan, and Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch worldwide. The game was released back 1996 and is a sequel to Savage Reign. Its gameplay is more similar with Real Bout Fatal Fury, and it includes a tag mechanic that allows players to switch fighters mid-brawl.


Black Ops 4 Zombies Adds Gauntlets and Double XP in 115 Day Celebration

Treyarch kicks off Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies’ 115 Day Celebration Event next week, and players have a lot to look forward to. The event starts January 15th, and players can earn double XP on all platforms. Players on PlayStation 4 will also get three new Epic Elixirs, balancing updates on Elixirs, and debut of Gauntlets. During the event, Bonus Nebulium Plasma will be rewarded each time players hit a new milestone for the first time. The Zombies: 115 Day Celebration ends January 18th.


Steam’s Game Library Now Has 30,000 Games

Steam is still king in terms of number of games in its library. In the past few weeks, the digital game platform giant now has a grand total of over 30,000 games. This figure is just games alone, and does not include DLCs or videos that are also around 21,000. It may be a small milestone, but these numbers are quite impressive and just goes to show how Steam is still the go-to for publishers and developers for games on PC.


Dota 2’s New Custom Mode is More Popular Than Artifact

China based studio Drodo Studio created a custom Dota 2 game mode, and it’s taking the game by storm. The game mode is called Dota Auto Chess, and as of this report, the game has racked 100,000 concurrent players and over 670,000 subscribers. The game is a combination of a board game and a custom Dota map mixed with strategy elements. The game is really popular, with reports saying it surpassed GTA 5 in terms of concurrent players. The game is completely free just like Dota 2.


Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Out Now on PC

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is now available on Steam! The remastered version of this JRPG classic was announced back in summer of 2018, and finally, the game is now available for modern-day players to enjoy. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition features updated HD graphics, new mini games, new music, new bosses, unreleased DLC, and two additional playable characters. It also includes all content in the game’s PS3 version.
