Gears Tactics Will Only Be Single-Player

Gears Tactics will only be a single-player experience according to The Coalition studio head Rod Furgusson. He revealed this in a tweet saying, “For those asking, #GearsTactics is single player and has no microtransactions. Not even cosmetic ones. Everything is earned in-game.” Gears Tactics is a tactical spin-off from the Gears of War series — a series known for its multiplayer, co-op, and competitive modes. Tactics will be the first single-player only title from the series.


PUBG Creator PlayerUnknown Reveals Next project, Prologue

Brendan Greene, also known as PLAYERUNKNOWN, has revealed his next project, Prologue, during The Game Awards 2019. The game was revealed through a very short trailer with a first-person point-of-view. The mysterious protagonist is in a forest in the middle of a storm, and it appears like he is trying to hide. Dogs can be heard barking in the distance. The game is yet to receive its release date and more detailed information is promised to be revealed in the future.


Resident Evil 2 Demo Features Teaser for Resident Evil 3

Capcom has updated the demo for Resident Evil 2 and it now includes a teaser for the recently revealed Resident Evil 3 Remake. The demo includes a voice clip of Resident Evil 3’s Nemesis, screaming, “STAAARS” at Racoon City Police Department’s gates. The Resident Evil 2 demo’s timer has also been removed, so players can play through it as many times as they want.


Surgeon Simulator Goes Co-op in Sequel

Surgeon Simulator is getting a sequel in 2020. Surgeon Simulator 2 has been announced, and is currently in the works. Platforms and its release date have not been revealed at this time. Developer Bossa Studios has hinted through its reveal trailer that Surgeon Simulator 2 will possibly feature a cop-op which supports up to four players. The original game launched back in 2013 for PC, PS4 Nintendo Switch, and in mobile.


Frostpunk’s The Last Autumn Expansion Launching Next Month

Frostpunk is set to receive its biggest paid expansion yet! The DLC is called The Last Autumn, and it will be launching for PC on January 21, 2020. The Last Autumn is a prequel that brings a new story campaign set before Earth was frozen. It also adds “a new environment, new Books of Laws and unique technologies, and presents a range of new buildings — all of which let you shape society and the city in unconventional ways.” The expansion will also be launched for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at a later date.


Time Magazine’s Most Influential Gadgets of the Decade Includes Switch

Time Magazine has named the Nintendo Switch as one of the “most important and influential gadgets” of the decade. The magazine calls the Switch as “the company’s most important contribution to gaming yet” citing its “smartphone-inspired portability, paired with Nintendo’s ever-growing library of blockbuster, independent and vintage titles” as its strong points. The list also includes 2010’s iPad, the Tesla Model S, Raspberry Pi, Google Chromecast, DJI Phantom, Amazon Echo, Apple Watch, Apple AirPods, and the Xbox Adaptive Controller.


Red Dead Redemption 2 Photo and Story Modes Head to PS4

Red Dead Redemption 2 players on PlayStation 4 now have access to the game’s Photo Mode and Story Mode thanks to an update which rolled out during the past weekend. The Story Mode is quite an essential addition as it adds bounty missions, raids on gang hideouts, treasure maps, a “To the Ends of the Earth” stranger mission, plus horses, guns, and trinkets. Players on the Xbox One won’t have to feel left out as their turn will come January 21st.


ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore Features 500K Prize Pool

ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore kicks off this week, and it features a whopping 500,000 Dollar prize pool! 12 teams are out to compete for the championship title and a chunk of the prize pool. The Group Stages will be held from December 17th until the 19th, with the winners advancing to the Playoffs which will be held from December 20th until the 22nd. Epicenter 2019 Taking Place This Week

EPICENTER 2019 is set to take place this week from December 17 to 22 in Moscow. The CS:GO pro tournament will have two double-elimination Group Stages from December 17th until the 19th. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs on December 21st until December 22nd in a single-elimination bracket format. Prize pool is 500,000 Dollars, with the winning team taking home 200,000 dollars.


Fortnite Adds Lightsabers

Fortnite launched its Star Wars event over the weekend, and it added Lightsabers and blasters for players to enjoy. Although the event is over, you still have time to get these and channel your inner Jedi or Sith as it looks like Epic is yet to announce an end date. Aside from these, you’ll also find Star Wars-based challenges as well as new unlockables such as a Jedi training emote.


Telltale’s Batman Re-release Rumored

Batman: The Telltale Series is getting a “noir-style visual makeover and graphical upgrade” and a re-release, according to a now-deleted post on Athlon Games’ website. According to the post, the Shadows Edition will contain Batman: The Telltale Series as well as its DLC. A new DLC called Shadows Mode will be available as a standalone purchase.


Street Fighter V: Champion Edition to Launch February 2020

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be launching next year and it will be bringing back some key characters from previous Street Fighter games. The two that had been announced are Gill, who is the final boss from Street Fighter 3 and Seth from Street Fighter 4. Seth has the ability to copy abilities from different fighters and can have a masculine and feminine form. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be launching on February 14, 2020, for PC and PlayStation 4.


Receiver 2 Announced to Launch Next Year

The indie shooter from 2013 called Receiver is getting a sequel called Receiver 2 and it is set to arrive by next year. In the second iteration, players will still shoot down drones and search for cassettes, the only difference is that there will be more guns and that it won’t have online multiplayer support nor VR support. The game’s description on its Steam page says, “Receiver 2 is designed to be a single-player experience played on a monitor with a mouse and keyboard.”


Doom Eternal Classic Weapon Pose Available at Launch

Doom Eternal will be getting the Classic Weapon Pose in its options menu when it launches. This will give players the chance to hold their weapons in-game like it is 1994. The weapons will be centered, in the middle of the screen for lining up shots. It is not realistic, but it sure is nostalgic, making us feel like we are playing through another game of Quake holding that rocket launcher in Team Fortress 2.


Battlefield 5 Wake Island Map has Returned

The classic Wake Island map for Battlefield 5 has returned! This time around the map has been scaled up to twice its previous size. The map will have air, sea and land combat. There will also be different options for vehicles and aircrafts around the map. There are six capture points which are Point A: Hotel, Point B: Barracks, Point C: Hangar, Point D Ammo Depot, Point E: Oil Tanks and Point F: Dock. The Battlefield 5 Wake Island map is for free and is available right now!


Wing of Darkness to Launch First Quarter of 2020

Wing of Darkness the high-speed flight action shooting game will be launching in the first quarter of 2020 via PC on Steam. The game features cute girls that pilot mechas. A PlayStation 4 launch is also expected to happen at some point but no specific release date is available as of yet. A new trailer had been shared for the game as well with an opening theme song from Kiyono Yasuno entitled “Eisen Flügel”. Yasuno will also be voicing the protagonist Klara Ernst.


Final Fantasy 14 Online Update 5.2 Patch Notes Revealed

Final Fantasy 14 Online has announced that the game was able to reach 18 million registered players worldwide. Also, a new patch has been revealed for the game, which is patch 5.2 titled Echoes of a Fallen Star. This new patch will come with new main scenario quests, a new equipment enhancement quest series, a new trial, a new Chronicles of a New Era quest, a new raid, an Ishgardian Restoration update, new Beast Tribe quests, a new Dungeon: Anamnesis Anyder, some job adjustments, and many more.


FunPlus Phoenix Gets Former T1 Player Kim “Khan” Dong-ha

Kim “Khan” Dong-ha a former player of T1 has joined FunPlus Phoenix as their top laner for the 2020 League of Legends season. Khan is actually the most ideal candidate to join the team, as reported by ESPN. FPX went through the year almost undefeated with the LPL Spring and Summer Splits. With the addition of Khan and with Kim “GimGoon” Hansaem extending his contract with the team, FPX will be a tough contender to beat.

Bigben and EKO Software has announced the new Warhammer Chaosbane DLC called The Tomb Kings. This includes unique race mechanics that are inspired by the Tomb Kings lore. There will be 4 new playable Legendary Lords and they are Settra the Imperishable, High Queen Khalida, Grand Hierophant Khatep, and Arkhan the Black. Gather all the cursed Books of Nagash and win the battle for the Black Pyramid and so much more. Warhammer Chaosbane The Tomb Kings is now available.


Call of Duty Modern Warfare Normal Gunfight Mode will be Coming Back

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s normal Gunfight mode will be making a comeback and the limited time OSP mode will be making its exit. This has been confirmed by Infinity Ward developer David Mickner who replied to a Tweet from the popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Belvins. In the normal Gunfight mode, all four players spawn in with the same random loadout. With the Gunfight OSP, the guns and equipment can be found around the map. No news as to when the normal Gunfight mode will make its return.


Mousesports Emerge as Champions During the CS_Summit Five Grand Finals

Mousesports defeats G2 Esports during the CS_Summit Five Grand Finals with a 2-1 win. The team seems to be unstoppable in their CS:GO season as they add another win under their belts. This is the third trophy for the team as they had also won the CS:GO Asia Championship last November as well as the ESL Pro League Season 10 finals in December. Mousesports will have another go for another championship in Epicenter where they will be facing off with Avangar on Wednesday, December 18 at 7 AM CT.


Monster Jam Steel Titans ‘Titan Update’ Now Available

A massive update has launched for Monster Jam Steel Titans and it is called the “Titans Update”, this is a free update that will expand upon the game bringing a new career mode that will bring players through a stadium, arena, and outdoor series with advanced difficulty. There will be unique missions to finish that will unlock great in-game items like teleporters and jump pads. A bunch of fixes are also available with the update, you can check out the patch notes for that in their official site.
