Red Dead Online Progress Won’t Reset After the Beta

Rockstar Games has confirmed that players’ progress during the Red Dead Online beta won’t be wiped out once the test period ends. Rockstar clarified this through a tweet saying, “For players concerned about the potential for progress and stats resets, we currently do not have any plans to reset them as part of the beta’s rollout.” It further added that they are still currently working on game stability and economy balancing through an update they’re planning to release this week.


Metroid Prime Trilogy Might Be Joining The Game Awards

A listing from Swedish retailer Inet suggests that the Metroid Prime Trilogy might be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Running the text through Google translate also shows that a ported version of this trilogy will be announced during The Game Awards, and that it is set to be released February 2019. It is worth noting that this listing is unconfirmed. Metroid Prime Trilogy was first released on Nintendo Wii back in 2009. The trilogy includes Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.


Dragon Age 4 to Release in 2021, Report Says

A report by VentureBeat says that the next Dragon Age game won’t be releasing until 2021. Sources say that the game is still in its early stages of development, and that both BioWare and EA are yet to decide on a name of this game. It also appears that a final name could possibly be announced during The Game Awards. BioWare teased a Dragon Age-related announcement set for December last week, and there’s a huge possibility it may be unveiled at the event.


Fallout 76 Live In-Game Events Planned to Start 2019

Bethesda has announced that Fallout 76 will be getting some live in-game events starting early 2019. These events are expected to occur weekly and will be different every single time. These events will give the game a small buff that will give your gameplay an interesting twist. More details will be shared about this soon. In other news, we can expect updates for the game to come in by December 11 for features and improvements, and December 18 for stability and gameplay issue fixes.


The Last of Us Part 2 Won’t Be At The Game Awards

Naughty Dog has announced through a tweet that The Last of Us Part 2 won’t be appearing at The Game Awards. The studio said it is looking forward to revealing more about the game “when the time is right.” Sony has skipped staging a PlayStation Experience this year, and fans have been wanting to find out more about the game, and The Game Awards is one major event which is perfect for game announcements, but it looks like Naughty Dog is not yet ready to show anything at this time.


Civilization 6: Gathering Storm Adds Maori Culture

A new culture that will be included in Civilization 6: Gathering Storm has been revealed. The new culture is the Maori, and it is led by the legendary navigator Kupe who discovered New Zealand. According to Maori legend, Kupe set sail from Hawaiki in the 10th century and eventually discovered New Zealand in his journey. He went back home and convinced others to migrate. The Maori have shipbuilding and sailing technologies and abilities, which provide additional movement and combat strength for embarked units.


Winter Wonderland Coming Back to Overwatch

The holiday Winter Wonderland of Overwatch is making a comeback as announced by Blizzard. The announcement was made via the Overwatch official Twitter account and it showed a quick video featuring the holiday transformation of the Blizzard World map. You will notice that there is no snow since the fictional location is near Irvine, California. But the decors are all there with the lights and ribbons and all. This will start on December 11 and will run up until January 2, 2019.


Crash Team Racing Remaster Teased

Video game journalists have been receiving The Game Awards invites from an “anonymous” source. The invite includes a couple of fuzzy dice: one has a six on it, while the other one has a one-six. It comes with a short note that reads: “Sliding into the Game Awards on 12/6… – Anonymous.” This could possibly hint to a Crash Team Racing reveal during the event, and it might also be about a possible remaster. The Game Awards is just a few days away, so we need not wait long to find out whether this is true or not.


Devil May Cry Will Have a Live Performance at The Game Awards

The Game Awards 2018 is just a few days away. This will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles starting this Friday. To add on the excitement, the Devil May Cry crew will be there as announced by Geoff Keighley via Twitter. They will be presenting a special “live performance” for most likely their upcoming game Devil May Cry 5. The Game Awards will start on December 6 at 17:30 PT or 20:30 ET and for European time it will be on Friday morning at around 2:30. There will be lots more to expect, so stay tuned.


Epic Games to Open Up a Steam Rival Store

A new digital PC game store is coming courtesy of Fortnite creator, Epic Games! The store is called the Epic Games Store, and it is a direct rival to Steam. Epic Games said in an announcement that the store is set to launch on PC and Mac “soon,” and that we’ll get to learn more about it during The Game Awards. Epic also added that they’re planning to give away a free game every two weeks throughout 2019 in its store. Will this finally be the one to end Steam’s dominance? We’ll have to wait and see!


Ubisoft Uplay Points Now Have Expiry Dates

Ubisoft has been rewarding its players with Club Points for making progress in its games, however, it looks like players won’t be keeping these points forever as Ubisoft has announced that these points have a life span. Points acquired starting April 1, 2019 now have a two-year lifespan, while balances acquired on or before March 31, 2017 will expire by March 31, 2019. Ubisoft said it will be providing new rewards from now until April 1st to make way for players to spend their points.

PUBG Launches on the PlayStation 4 on December 7!

For those of you excited to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on the PlayStation 4, well you only have to wait a few more days. The game launches on December 7th and will come with some PlayStation-exclusive gifts – one of which is the Pixel Art Parachute that has been inspired by the iconic blue of the PlayStation. You can get this simply by logging into the game. Pre-ordering the game will also give you some exclusive stuff like the Nathan Drake Desert Outfit and Ellie’s Backpack skins.


Fortnite Season 7 Won’t Be Launched at The Game Awards

Fortnite will be at The Game Awards 2018 and Geoff Keighley teased about a possible in-game event. This led people to believe that it will be a sneak peek of the game’s Season 7, however, that would not be the case. The timing seems to line up though as Fortnite’s Season 7 will launch the same day of The Game Awards. Epic Game’s Nick Chester said, “I can’t stress enough how much we have going on this week…Geoff isn’t talking about Season 7 launch here. Tune in!”


Insurgency: Sandstorm Open Beta to Begin December 7th

Insurgency: Sandstorm, a team-based tactical FPS, will be launching on December 12. However, before that, a free open beta will be available on December 7 which will run through the weekend. This will give players a sneak preview of what the game is all about. Also, with this announcement is the new gameplay “overview” trailer that showcases the co-op and PvP game modes, movement, audio, vehicles, and plans of the game. A massive update will drop during the beta which comes with content upgrade.


Destiny 2’s Black Armory Has Opened

Destiny 2’s Black Armory is finally here! This update is the first out of three planned for the game. It offers players a quest that will take them to a new area called The Black Armory where a robot named Ada-1 sends players on a quest to unlock the first Lost Forge. This quest has a lot for players to do, and some might think this is quite a grind. It is also worth noting that the Black Armory is designed for hardcore high-level players.


Blizzard Gives Away Free Card Packs as Hearthstone: Rastakhan’s Rumble Kicks Off

Hearthstone expansion Rastakhan’s Rumble has gone live, and Blizzard is giving away a few freebies for Hearthstone players for a limited time. For simply logging in to the game, players will receive 6 free Rastakhan’s Rumble card packs, a random Legendary Loa, and finally two copies of the Spirit card for the same class. Total War: Three Kingdoms Unveils Bandit Queen Zheng Jiang

Creative Assembly shared a new trailer for their game Total War: Three Kingdoms, and it is all about the warrior and outlaw Zheng Jiang. She is a bandit queen who raids and pillages and will not stop until she gets to see the institution that she hates crumble and fall. She doesn’t respect dynasties and nobility and believes that a sign of her destiny is her strength and merciless fury. We will get to see this bandit queen by March 7, 2019, when the game launches for Windows, Mac, and Linux.


Ziplines May Be Coming to Fortnite Season 7

Teasers for Fortnite’s upcoming Season 7 kept on coming, and the latest teaser suggests that a zip-lining may be added as one of the activities to the game. The teaser shows what appears like a snowboarding figure who appears like it’s sliding down a rope with a zip-line tool in hand. We’re not quite sure yet whether these will come to the game as new objects in the world, or an item players can pickup and deploy anytime they want. Fortnite’s Season 7 is set to begin December 6th.


Last Year: The Nightmare Coming to PC This Month

Elastic Games has finally revealed the release date for its asymmetrical horror multiplayer Last Year: The Nightmare almost two months since its closed beta ended. The game is set to be released December 18th on PC, while it will also be released for consoles next year. Elastic Games did not specifically mention which consoles the game will release to.
Last Year: The Nightmare will launch as a Discord Store-exclusive game, which means players can get it only from the Discord games store.


Kingdom Hearts 3 Xbox One File Size Revealed

Details on Kingdom Hearts 3’s file size on the Xbox One has been revealed. Microsoft’s Japanese website shows that the game will take up 35.76GB of space on the console’s hard drive. There’s a possibility this might also be the same file size for the PlayStation 4, but we’ll have to wait for more concrete details as the game’s release date draws near. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be available starting January 29th.


Hitman 2’s December Roadmap Revealed

Io Interactive has revealed Hitman 2’s December content, revealing new Escalations, Contracts, and a new Elusive Target. First up are five Featured Contracts which were community-made contracts hand-picked by the developers. These will become available starting Thursday, December 6th. A new escalation will also be available starting December 13th. A time-limited holiday surprise is also happening on December 18th. The new Elusive Target will be live by December 21st, and finally, the final Escalation arrives December 27th.


Amazon’s The Grand Tour Game Reveals Three Weird Vehicles

Get to drive crazy looking cars in The Grand Tour Game by Amazon Game Studios. This is a racing title that has been based on Amazon’s car show that is hosted by James May, Richard Hammond, and Jeremy Clarkson. The game is episodic, having seasons one and two, and will have new episodes available weekly. It looks like the episodes are based on the real-world show. Pre-order now and you get to drive James May’s Fire Truck, Richard Hammond’s Eco Car, and Jeremy Clarkson’s Beach Buggy.
