Ark: Survival Evolved Genesis Expansion to Launch in December
Wildcard has unveiled Ark: Survival Evolved’s two-part expansion, Genesis, and it is set to launch in December. Genesis will contain the game’s fourth and fifth paid expansions, and is the game’s second season pass. Wildcard has not revealed what exactly the Genesis expansion will bring to the game, but it did say that it will include “a really cool map,” a new Tek Claw weapon, and a new AI companion.
Ashes of Oahu Release Date Announced
Wyrmbyte has announced that its open-world action game, Ashes of Oahu is set for launch, and will be available starting August 29th. The developer also announced a closed beta for the game, and players who pre-ordered it will get instant access as well as a 3-day head start before the game launches. The devs will also select random players to join the beta, and if interested, you can sign up through their Discord, or their community newsletter.
WWE Superstars Appear in Brawlhalla
Brawlhalla is currently having a SummerSlam themed in-game event, and WWE Superstars are crossing over to the game! The WWE Superstar Epic Crossovers are available for 300 Mammoth coins each, and players can choose from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, and Xavier Woods. A new free game mode, called Brawldown is also available and includes a ring, breakable tables, and fun rope physics.
DayZ Gets New Weapons and More in 1.04 Update
DayZ’s 1.04 update has rolled out across all its platforms. The update adds some major features to the game that players have been requesting for. One of the biggest additions is private servers for the game’s console versions. The update also adds grenades, new weapons, as well as a new throwing mechanic. It also adds improved medical gameplay, as well as fixes on issues on frame-rate and duping.
DiRT Rally 2.0 VR Update Rolls Out on PC
DiRt Rally 2.0’s long-requested VR update has finally arrived on PC. It is free for players on Steam, while a special Oculus package is available over at the Oculus Store. Mad Dash is described as a more frantic version of the original Harvest Moon as it will have players take on a lot of tasks such as fishing, milking cows, and harvesting in order to complete levels. It also features various environments including Skyworld, the Underworld, and beach.
Final Borderlands 3 Character Trailer Introduces FL4K
Gearbox has released its fourth and final character trailer for Borderlands 3. The final trailer FL4K, a robot Beastmaster who has three loyal and equally deadly pets. FL4K’s animal friends can attack enemies and buff stats. They even have sniping skills. The trailer also shows FL4K phasing out for a brief period, boosting their health and disorienting their enemies. FL4K is the fourth announced hero for Borderlands 3, joining Amara the Siren, Moze the Mech Gunner, and Zane Flynt the Gunslinger.
Vigor Free Weekend Announced
Bohemia Interactive has announced a free weekend for its free-to-play title Vigor. The free play weekend takes place from August 8th until August 11th, and is available for Xbox Live Gold members. The free weekend will allow players to try out the recently released 0.9 Update: Aid which comes with improved overall gameplay, new story challenges, weapon skins, and more.
GNOG Currently Free on the Epic GamesStore
It’s that time of the week in the Epic Games Store, and this week it’s offering GNOG as its free game! GNOG is a puzzle game where players will tinker with toys and figure out what each element in the toys do. The game also features different goals and themes for each level. Shenmue 3 Pre-Order Bonuses Announced
The pre-order bonuses for retail copies Shenmue 3 have been revealed. When pre-ordered in participating retailers, players will get in-game items including three bottles of Snake Power elixir, 5,000 playing tokens, the Blazing Kick advanced ability, and a set of 24 tickets to exchange for in-game capsule toys. Shenmue 3 releases November 19 on PC and PS4.
Trine 4 to Launch This October for PC and Consoles
Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is the latest installment in Frozenbyte’s series, and finally fans of the franchise will soon be able to get their hands on the much-awaited title. Trine 4 will be launching on October 8th and will be available on PC, Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game will reunite the characters the series is known for: Amadeus the wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief. The next free games on the Epic Games Store have been revealed! Two games will be free starting August 15th until the 22nd. The free games are Hyper Light Drifter and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. As Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden received a Mature rating, Epic Games is also giving away Hyper Light Drifter to give younger players a chance to download a free game. The latest free game on Epic Games is GNOG and is free until August 15th.
Apex Legends Tournament TV Broadcast Postponed
ABC and ESPN have announced that they will not be airing the Respawn’s latest Apex legend tournament on August 11 as expected. According to ESPN, the decision was made out of respect for the victims and all those impacted in the immediate aftermath of the tragic shootings of August 3, 2019. This would have been the game’s first major appearance on US television. However, the decision is understandable and potential viewers will have to wait for it to be broadcasted in October of this year instead.
Bite the Bullet Announced
Mega Cat Studios have officially announced that its new pixel-art Metroidvania, Bite the Bullet is headed to PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One next year. If you are a Metal Slug fan, it is likely you will enjoy this game too as it draws inspiration from the 2009 Shoot ’em up classic. The developer has appropriately placed in within the roguelike RPG shooter genre on the game’s official website. A precise release date is yet to be announced but the release window is the first quarter of next year.
Destiny 2 Coming to Steam, Cross-Save Feature Announced
Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 will be moving from Battle.net to Steam on October 1, 2019, as promised. Players will need to sign up to transfer their accounts, which does include all owned content expansions, passes, Silver, and all else as of August 20. Bungie has also announced that beyond the mentioned date, cross-save will be in effect. “Cross-Save enables you to access the Guardians and Collections on one Active Account from wherever you play,” Bungie explained.
FPS XIII Remake Delayed Until 2020
Microids has announced that it will be 2020 before players will have an opportunity to play the remake of FPS XIII. Initially, the stealth shoot em up game was to be released on November 13 of this year. The developer also assures the fans that everything is proceeding well so there is no cause for alarm; the added times merely for polishing the game into the product you deserve. FPS XIII remake has no precise release date set but early next year is a safe bet.
Ark: Genesis Announced
Ark’s incoming two-part expansion begins in December which is arguably a long way away, however, if you preorder you will get immediate access to a fully-voiced floating AI that will accompany you while you wait. The AI is named HLN-A and it follows you around, speaks, gives you missions and objectives, and most importantly, it projects the story of Ark. The developer also revealed a few other things that will come as part of the update and among them is a massive sea-turtle you can build a fort on.
New Fallout 76 Update Detailed
Bethesda has published the details for Fallout 76’s latest patch and it is quite an interesting look. Patch 12 is scheduled to be released later this month and brings with it some changes to Charleston Capitol, Nuclear Winter, nerfs to some overpowered weapons, the addition of display cases and much more. Majin Buu Joins Jump Force
Bandai Namco has relieved that it will be adding yet another Dragon Ball Z character to Jump force and it is non-other than the cheerful yet lethal Majin Buu. The announcement was accompanied by a short trailer that brilliantly captured the character’s as well as some moves and combos that are readily identifiable by fans of the hit Japanese anime. Jump Force is filled with characters from the top anime titles and fans will agree that Majin Buu is a welcomed addition.
The last Halo: The Master Chief Collection Delayed
The last Halo: The Master Chief Collection was to be released recently but it has been delayed “due to severe blocking bugs.” This is rather unfortunate for players who have been looking forward to its release but the delay is unavoidable. In any case, the developers have assured the fans that they are doing everything in their power to have the highly anticipated collection released for PC. WoW Classic RP-PvP Servers Announced
Blizzard has officially confirmed that the RP-PvP servers will be available for World of Warcraft Classic as per the request of an unignorable number of members in the WOW community. For now, RP-PvP is only confirmed for North American players but players can expect to get a full breakdown of all the servers across regions sometime before name registration goes live in the coming week. The official WoW Classic release date is currently slated for August 27, 2019.

Kadokawa Corporation, which is the parent company of FromSoftware was pleased to announce that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has sold 3.8 million copies. Though this number includes all copies, both physical and digital, and refers to all platforms, congratulation is in order as that is a tremendous achievement for the developers of the action-adventure title. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden & Hyper Light Drifter are Free in The Epic Store Next Week
Epic Games recently announced that Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter and The Bearded Ladies Consulting’s Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden will be available for free next week on the Epic Games Store. Soon players will have another action-adventure RPG in Hyper Light Drifter. However, fans of turn-based, tactics role-playing games are not to be outdone as Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is theirs to take home. There is no either-or selection, both titles will be free for the slated period.
RPG Gamedec Announced for PC, to Launch in 2020
Anshar Studios announced its new upcoming game — a cyberpunk-themed, adaptive, story-driven RPG called Gamedec. The studio plans to release it in 2020 for PC. Gamedec is a game that revolves around a private detective who is out to solve crimes in virtual worlds. He will be exposing conspiracies, and unusual relationships between the real and virtual worlds. Decisions are important in the game, as it makes the protagonist and the environment adapt to it as the story progresses.
