Cyberpunk 2077 Might Get Witcher-Like Expansions

CD Projekt Red is considering releasing expansions for Cyberpunk 2077 that are similar to The Witcher 3. In an interview with Prima Games, UI coordinator Alvin Liu said that the core game of Cyberpunk 2077 will tell a complete story, but that doesn’t mean it is the end of it. He said that they want to build open worlds, and that when he completed The Witcher 3, he was wondering what everyone in the game was up to. He believes there will be a similar opportunity with Cyberpunk 2077.

Dragon Star Varnir Launches on Steam in September

NISAmerican’s dragon JRPG Dragon Star Varnir will be available to players on Steam starting this September! The game first became available on the PlayStation 4. The Steam version of the game will include all the gameplay and art content of the Japanese version, plus subtitles in Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and English. The game features turn-based combat in mid-air, using transformations and tiers to weaken enemies.


Arma 3’s Alien Expansion, Contact, Launches July 25th

Arma 3 players will get to encounter aliens in its upcoming spin-off expansion, Contact. Arma 3: Contact will feature not only the sci-fi campaign, but also new assets that players can also use outside Contact. There’s also a new map, Livonia, which is described as a temperate summer map that features forests and fields. It also has landmarks such as bunkers from World War 2, a radar station, and an old factory. The expansion also allows players to drive tractors, and gives access to five new weapons and a new faction.


Remnant from the Ashes’ Latest Trailer Features Wasteland of Rhom

Gunfire Games has released a new trailer for its co-op survival shooter Remnant: From the Ashes, featuring the wastelands of Rhom. Rhom is where the game is set, and it was once home to a “great civilization.” The cities have now become a steel graveyard that is full of dangerous creatures that are hungry for human flesh. Remnant: From the Ashes launches August 20th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.


Console Release Dates for They Are Billions Announced

Post-apocalyptic steampunk RTS-survival game They Are Billions first launched on Steam Early Access in 2017. This year, the game will now also become available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will first release on the Xbox One on July 5th, and PlayStation 4 will follow suit on July 9th. Xbox One is currently offering a pre-order campaign which starts June 21st and will run for two weeks until its launch. Details are available on the Xbox website.


Metro Exodus’ Latest Patch Addresses Issues

Metro Exodus’ June 19th patch has rolled out, and it addresses a couple of issues in the game. The patch primarily fixes the issue of the game freezing when players hit Alt+Tab on their keyboards. It also includes a fix for a bug that prevent game settings to be saved for some players. This patch should automatically be downloaded by the Epic Games Store client once players launch it.


Futuristic 3D Shooter Pawarumi Announced for Switch and Xbox One

French indie developer Manufacture 43 has announced the release date for its futuristic 3D shoot-em-up Pawarumi. The game will be launching on July 24th on the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One. The game’s mechanic was inspired by rock-paper-scissors. It lets players maximize damage, heal their shield, or charge a super attack by shooting the right enemy types with the optimal weapons. Pawarumi is set in a pre-Columbian inspired world.


Halo Infinite Beta to be Available on Xbox One First

343 Industries has shared details on its highly-anticipated game Halo Infinite. The game will be launching for PC and Xbox One, and a beta will be taking place soon. The beta tests, called flights, will first become available for players on the Xbox One, and then PC will follow later. 343 said they will be starting the testing periods small and then slowly expand until the game’s release in 2020. PC players, according to 343, are treated as first-class citizens.


Monster Hunter World’s New Dynamic Difficulty Available Without Iceborne

Players will be able to access Monster Hunter World’s new dynamic difficulty setting without the game’s Iceborne expansion. This is because the dynamic difficulty feature will be added directly to the base game. This difficulty setting adds a third difficulty for two-player hunting parties for the first time ever. Also, if players get disconnected during a hunt, the game will automatically scale down the difficulty to the appropriate level.


Total War: Three Kingdoms’ Blood Pack to Launch Next Week

Total War: Three Kingdoms will get bloodier with its blood pack which is set to launch on June 27th. The Reign of Blood Effects Pack is available as a separate purchase and adds bloody effects, animations, and kill moves to the game’s Campaign and Battle modes. This pack is for mature audiences only as it will include dismemberment, charred corpses, beheading, and more in “sadistic detail.”


Diamond Casino and Resort Opens This Summer on GTA Online

The Diamond Casino & Resort is opening on GTA Online this summer, according to Rockstar Games. The company did not specify an exact date at this time.The Diamond Casino and Resort is a building situated between Vinewood Hills and the Tataviam Mountains. It is said to feature “lavish amenities, exclusive shopping, first-class entertainment and state-of-the-art gaming facilities.” More details on the casino and resort will be revealed soon.


Apex Legends Gets New Networking-Focused Patch

Apex Legends recently has received a new networking-focused update on PC. The patch is geared towards simplifying the process of selecting a data centre when launching the game which makes it more intuitive. It is worth noting that the list of servers Apex Legends displays will persist to be sorted according to ping. Now, an orange highlight will make selected servers more readily identifiable by players. There will also be an increase in the rate clients send user input to servers.


Watch Dogs Legion has 20 Script Variations

Watch Dogs Legion’s creative director Clint Hocking recently announced that providing unique player-experiences were among the primary focuses during the game’s development. In doing so, the developers have imputed 20 different versions of scripts in the game. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is experiencing a few online issues. This came to light when some players posted on social media highlighting issues they were encountering in the game’s online multiplayer mode. Some of these issues include players seemingly disconnecting and disappearing off the track and player models not being synchronized to the minimap. The developers acknowledged the players’ plight and promise that an immediate fix is in the works to address the online multiplayer experience.


Gears 5 Ousts Season Pass and Gear Packs

Gears 5 developer The Coalition recently announced that it is getting rid of the season pass. This news came from a development blog where the devs discussed high-level plans for post-launch support and progression in the game. According to the blog, Gear Packs are also to be ousted and replaced by a system absent RNG factors that allow players to get exactly what they are paying for. In addition, all post-launch DLC maps will be accessible by all players.


Apex Legends 2 Not in The Works

Glass Bottom Games appears to have hit the mark with Skatebird as many critics have likened to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. According to the founder of Glass Bottom Games Megan Fox, “it is a game about birds trying their best” and she is appealing to gamers to come to teach them how to skate well. There is a demo for PC, Mac, and Linux available for download on the Kickstarter page. The Kickstarter goal has long been surpassed so it is only a matter of time before a full release is available.

Square Enix published a fresh batch of screenshots for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The screenshots were first published exclusively in Famitsu magazine which also included an interview with Square Enix director, Tetsuya Nomura. The director confirmed many interesting scenes spotted in a previously released trailer to be new story elements added to the game.
