Fortnite Season 8 Teaser Points to Pirates and Treasure Hunts

Epic Games has tweeted a teaser for Fortnite Season 8 showing an image of a pirate hook. “X Marks The Spot, treasure abound,” it reads. “Loot that has been lost, can always be found.” This suggests that Fortnite’s next season will be pirate-themed and will feature some sort of treasure hunt. We may even get to see some aquatic vehicles if we’re lucky. Season 8 starts on February 28th. You still have until February 27th to finish the Overtime time challenges to get the Battle Pass for free.


Amazon Listings for Bloodstained Ritual of the Night may have Leaked Actual Release Date

Listings for physical versions of Bloodstained Ritual of the Night for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Switch have surfaced on Amazon that may have just revealed the game’s actual release date. These listings show that the game will become available on September 17th. Meanwhile, a new trailer for the game revealed a “Summer 2019” launch window. While near the end of summer, the September 17th launch date still very much fits the window. However, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement to confirm.


Update Released for The Division 2 Beta Client

An update has been rolled out for The Division 2’s private beta client that suggests that next week’s open beta might be getting a bit more content to play with. The update notes show that the level cap will be increased to 8, one extra mission will be available, and one extra skill can be unlocked. It also shows that difficulty has been adjusted for normal and end-game missions. The update is over twelve gigabytes in size, so you might want to start downloading to get ready for the open beta.


Metro Exodus is Getting Thousands of Positive Reviews on Steam

When Deep Silver announced that Metro Exodus games would be an Epic Games Store exclusive, previous entries in the series were review-bombed by angry fans. In a shocking twist though, it seems that Exodus is so good that people have been leaving positive reviews for the game on Steam, even though it isn’t available on the platform yet. The game is now sitting on a “Very Positive” rating on Steam. Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the fact that you’ll have to wait until next year to play it on Steam.


Fallout New Vegas gets 76-Style Mutations with New Mod

Although Fallout 76 has been very disappointing for fans of the series, to say the least, many actually enjoy the Mutations system it features. Now, modders have made the system available in Fallout New Vegas for those who still prefer a singleplayer experience but think the system is actually really good. All of Fallout 76’s mutations were carried over, except for 3 that just couldn’t be implemented due to technical restrictions. The mod is now available for download at Nexus Mods.


Anakin Skywalker Announced for Star Wars Battlefront 2

The Chosen One is finally coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2. DICE has revealed Anakin Skywalker will come in Jedi Knight and Jedi Robes variants, both of which are based on Episode 3. His skills match his personality in the movies too, especially Retribution, which builds up as he and nearby allies get attacked, finally exploding in “a swift and inescapable” 360-degree AOE force grip on all nearby enemies. He arrives on February 27th, along with the 501st Battalion clone legion armours.


Amazon Placeholder Pages Point to New Fallout Game Releasing This Year

Placeholder pages for a new Fallout game were discovered on Amazon. The pages are for releases on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. They list a release date of December 31st, which is often a placeholder for an unannounced date within the year. Given how recent the release of Fallout 76 is, it’s highly unlikely we’ll be seeing an entirely new entry in the series. Instead, most fans are now speculating that a remake of one of the older games will be released later this year.


Capcom has Nothing Planned for Devil May Cry 5 After Launch

Capcom has been actively supporting their recent titles post-launch, which is why you might be surprised to know that they currently DO NOT have any post-launch plans for Devil May Cry 5. Responding to a fan on Twitter about the subject, producer Matt Walker confirmed that the only plan they have at the moment is the previously announced Bloody Palace update. But, keep in mind that plans can always change, and given Capcom’s track record, we still might see new content coming to the game in the future.


Driftboards Temporarily Disables in Fortnite Save the World

Epic has announced through a Tweet that they are temporarily disabling Driftboards in Fortnite Save the World. According to Epic, the reason behind is “due to an issue,” but they did not specifically say what the issue was. Players have replied to the Tweet, saying that there really are issues in Save the World since the Driftboard was introduced. Battle Royale players don’t have problems. It is unknown when the Driftboards will be returning to the mode.


New Apex Legends Character Leaked

A new Apex Legends character might have been leaked, if we are to base the recent datamine by Gaming INTEL. According to the datamine, the name of the new character is Prophet, and he has an ability called Precog. This could mean Prophet will have some sort of future-reading abilities. As always we would have to wait until Respawn confirms or denies this.


Travis Strikes Again DLC Release Date Announced

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is getting its first DLC this week! The expansion is called Black Dandelion and it is slated to arrive February 28th. This DLC includes the new Badman Strikes Back Adventure and adds the character Shinobu to the game as a playable character. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is available on the Nintendo Switch.


Street Fighter 5 PC Drops PS4 Controller Support In Its Next Update

Capcom has announced that on February 27, Street Fighter 5 will receive an update ditching native DirectInput support for the PC version of the game. Instead, the game will feature Steam’s native support for PS4 controllers and other devices. According to the company, this will “improve operation stability for DirectInput USB controllers used with the Steam version of the game.” If you play using a DirectInput controller, you might have to reconfigure it after the update.


The Division 2’s Endgame Activities Highlighted in Latest Trailer

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2’s new trailer shows some of the endgame activities in which players can indulge once the game’s main story has ended. One major complaint of fans who played the prequel was, once they got to endgame there was not much else to do. The developer heard their cry and the trailer bears evidence that steps were taken to rectify the issue. Hopefully, this will extend the game’s lifespan as intended. The Division 2 is set to be released on March 15, 2019, for PS4, PC and Xbox One.


Watch Dogs 3 Leaked Again, Possible Release Timeframe and Setting Revealed

Watch Dogs 3’s newest leak suggests that the game will be released in 2019 and that it will be set in London. This information was gathered from a 4Chan post from an anonymous poster. It would have been just hearsay had it not been corroborated by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier. The post stated that the game will feature a new protagonist and players can choose said character’s gender. More emphasis will be placed on hacking as opposed to combat. There is no precise date set for Watch Dogs 3’s release.

Hempuli Oy’s multi-award winning game Baba Is You is coming to Steam on March 13, 2019. This game is sure to garner a lot of interest seeing that it won both Best Student Game and Best Design at the IGF Awards. At first glance, Baba Is You appears to be solely about collecting flags by pushing blocks and crossing obstacles, but anyone who has played it will tell you it is much more than what meets the eye. The Outer Worlds’ Release Date Leaked

The Outer Worlds’ Steam page received a change recently that suggest it will be releasing for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 6, 2019. Obsidian Entertainment is confident that the RPG will be releasing in 2019 however, recent events validated that they are not as confident about the game’s specific release date. This was confirmed after an August 6, 2019 release date was posted on Steam DB changelog only to be reverted shortly thereafter.


Other Ocean Reveals Project Winter’s Early Access Development Roadmap

Other Ocean has revealed the Early Access development roadmap for their survival game, Project Winter. As you may have guessed, the roadmap outlines the milestones to be met and the sequence with which the content will be released for Early Access and beyond. The incoming upgrades for the game are many, however, they fall within three categories. These categories are tagged with the subheadings: In-Game Upgrades, Survivor Upgrades, and Traitor Upgrades.

Frogwares’ Lovecraftian open-world action game named The Sinking City, was announced to be dropping on the 21st of March, but recently evidence surfaced saying otherwise. Black Ops 4 Update Doubles Earn Rate for Loot Boxes

Recently Treyarch included loot-boxes in their FPS game Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and now they are increasing the earn rate of said boxes times two. According to Treyarch, these adjustments will make the system more rewarding and therefore fairer for their player-base. This will certainly be welcomed by players as it means they have an increased chance of attaining whichever item they seek. Also, cases are now part of the Contraband tier progression stream beyond tier 100.
