Fortnite’s Next Tourney to Happen in IEM Katowice

Fortnite’s next major tournament will be held at IEM Katowice which is easily one of the biggest events in esports. You know it is going to be monumental when Epic Games and ESL merge forces to bring the tournament to Poland. Previously, the bulk of Fortnite’s competitive events were limited to first-party competitions hosted by Epic. As of February 23, 2019, this will change as the ESL Katowice Royale will commence. This is a welcomed change as it opens the door for more third party tournaments in the future.


Dai from Dragon Quest Spin-Off Joins Jump Force

Spike Chunsoft’s Jump Force adds Dai from Dragon Quest. The character from Dragon Quest spin-off The Adventures of Dai made appearances in promotional images for Jump Force. Bandai Namco officially announced the character in the most recent edition of Jump magazine. So far, we know that his abilities are based on the ones he has in the manga. Jump Force is set for release on February 15 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.


Hitman 2’s Next Elusive Target is a Crooked Appraiser

IO Interactive has added another target for Agent 47 to assassinate in Hitman 2. This new target is one that you will feel no remorse for eliminating. She is a crooked Appraiser named Miranda Jamison. Players who are successful is taking her out will unlock the Tuxedo and Mask with Gloves suit. The contract is free and available to everyone who owns a copy of the game. This mission must be treated with caution as it can only be attempted once, you will NOT be able to retry if you fail.


PlanetSide Arena won’t be Coming Until March

Daybreak has announced that PlanetSide Arena is delayed until March 26, 2019. The battle royale game was supposed to be released on the 29th of this month, but Daybreak issued word that the release will be delayed. “We ultimately decided taking extra time to supplement our feature set and fully optimize engine performance,” Daybreak said. They have also expressed that the added time is being used to improve server infrastructure to give PlanetSide players the quality they deserve.


Nintendo will be Starting Metroid Prime 4 Development Over

Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer at Nintendo, released a tweet that expressed the development on Metroid Prime 4 is being completely rebooted. The tweet contained a video that showed Shinya Takahashi apologizing profusely for any disappointments caused by the decision. He said they have decided to re-examine the development structure itself and change it. He added that they are collaborating with Retro Studios to ensure that the game will be of Nintendo Standard.


Steam Lunar New Year Sale Schedule Leaked

An image was leaked from the Steam Partner site which contained information about Steam’s upcoming events. The image gave a peek at the upcoming Steam Lunar New Year Sale, including the dates and sale requirements. Majority of the leakage only potentially matters to developers who are posting their games at a reduced cost. Based on the leak, the Steam Lunar New Year Sale starts on February 4 at 10 AM Pacific and ends on February 11 at 10 AM Pacific. We still need confirmation from Steam so this doesn’t count as official dates.


Skyrim Together Beta Access Live Now for Patreon Backers

Skyrim Together, the multiplayer mod for Bethesda’s open-world RPG, is now in closed beta. Patreon backers who seek access will need to have a separate launcher in order to use the mod, as well as an account on the official Skyrim Together site. Players will also need to have a linked Patreon account. Once all the requisites have been checked, you will be able to invite friends to private sessions. An open beta is expected to come after two weeks of closed beta.


Sekiro Shadows Die Twice will Include Dark Souls Style Secret Bosses

FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki announced that the studio’s most recent project, Sekiro, maintains the same trend of having the challenging hidden bosses like preceding titles. It is a tedious endeavor for any developer who creates a stream of titles because they have to make games different while maintaining core concepts. Now while Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice dares to be different, the hidden boss is one concept that will persist. The game is scheduled to be launched on March 22 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.


Re-Legion Set to Launch this Week

Re-Legion will be launching on Steam on January 31, 2019. In celebration of the launch, 1C is offering players a 10% discount when they purchase the game within the first two weeks of release. The company has also shared the Re-Legion official soundtrack details with the complete techno-driven OST with 15 tracks available for a 10% discount at launch on Steam. Players can also purchase the Re-Legion Deluxe Edition at a reduced cost at launch in the Steam Store.


Iron Soldier and Steel Comrade Mechs Coming to World of Tanks Mercenaries

As of January 29, two mechs — the towering US Iron Soldier and the sleek and lethal USSR Steel Comrade — will be added to World of Tanks: Mercenaries. The mechs have lasers, missiles and machine guns in their arsenal. They are also very durable and have a whole lot of health to help them survive the impending onslaught. Players can now shoot and demolish their way through the Old River City map and its many destructible environments. Destroy all opposing mechs to become victor of the battlegrounds.


Earth Defense Force Iron Rain will Launch Exclusively for the PS4 in April

Developer Yuke announced that The Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will be released worldwide exclusively for the PS4 on April 11, 2019. The devs also released a trailer that introduced the Ultimate PA-Gear, Prowl Rider. Its “E-Needle” ability allows it to fire off wires that it can use to quickly pull itself towards its destination. The wires can be used on buildings, trees and even enemies. The game’s Standard and Ultimate Editions are up for pre-order now on the Playstation Store.


PUBG’s Vikendi Scavenger Hunt #2 Now Underway on Xbox One

PUBG’s Scavenger Hunt #2 event is live now for Xbox One players. This is in celebration of Vikendi map’s debut on consoles the past week. While the first Scavenger Hunt round awarded players with the Snow Beanie, the second one will award players with a pair of the Stylish Snow Sunglasses. To participate, players must figure out where challenge screenshots were taken from the map, go there, and take their own pictures. The first one to upload the correct one wins the reward. Scavenger Hunt #2 runs until February 3rd.


Anodyne 2: Return to Dust Launches May

Anodyne 2: Return To Dust will be launching on May, as announced by developers Analgesic Productions. The game is an adventure, role-playing game that sort of reminds you of the early Zelda games. The game features two modes, and the protagonist Nova has the ability to morph into a car for some reason. What you will be doing as Nova is to clean Nano Dust from different characters and then deliver it to the recycling “center”. Anodyne 2: Return To Dust will be available through Steam and itch.io.


Monster Hunter World’s Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off

From today up until February 21st is the celebration of the Monster Hunter World Anniversary. This is called the Appreciation Fest where players get to enjoy the celebration as well as get some new items too. You will easily notice that the festivities are in the air as the Hub and Arena Lasses, Event Manager, and Provisions Manager are looking kind of festive. Call of Duty is Highest Selling Console Franchise for the Last 10 Years

Activision celebrates another milestone for its Call of Duty franchise! The NPD Group has revealed that for 10 years in a row, the Call of Duty series has been the best-selling franchise. The streak reportedly started with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009, and concluded with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in 2018. The report reveals every entry in the series has sold very well. Activision said they’re just getting started as they turn the page for 2019, and that they will see players online.


Anthem Beta Problems Still Persist, BioWare Apologizes

The Anthem PC VIP demo launched with a lot of problems and BioWare has apologized for it. There had been players who were not able to log into the game. Moving in between areas has also been a problem as it tends to have an infinite loading screen. Rumor has it that the problems were because there had been under planning for the game which was far from the truth. The problems occurred because of the increase of the player population. The spike of players entering the game made it unstable.


Square Enix Releases Memory Archive Videos for Kingdom Hearts Newbies

Square Enix has released a refresher on Kingdom Hearts’ storyline for those who are new to the series, or those who simply missed some of them. The Kingdom Hearts memory Archive videos are up on the Kingdom Hearts official YouTube channel. There are 5 videos in total, and they basically tell you what happened in previous games in the series. Kingdom Hearts 3 is currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.


New Resident Evil 2 Gameplay Trailer Showcases Hunk

A new trailer has been revealed for Hunk, the fourth survivor on Resident Evil 2. The trailer is action-packed showing Hunk taking on some human and dog zombies, Mr. X, as well as some lickers. Players will be able to unlock Hunk by finishing the game two times, using the two main characters of the game. Finishing the game as Hunk will then unlock the character Tofu. Yes, you get to play as an actual Tofu to finish the game’s scenarios. Resident Evil 2 is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.


Jump Force Story Trailer Unveiled

Bandai Namco has released a story trailer for Jump Force. The trailer showcases characters from its roster which came from the most popular manga and anime franchises such as Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto, and many more. Jump Force gives players the freedom to create their own brawler/hero and customize their look and fighting moves using elements from their favorite anime or manga franchises. The game is currently slated for release on February 15th.


Anno 1800 Closed Beta Sign-Ups Now Available

Anno 1800, Ubisoft’s city-building franchise that is set to launch by February, is having a closed demo that is planned to start on January 31st. Sign-ups are available right now. BioWare Gives Anthem Players Free Javelin Skin After Rocky Anthem Beta

BioWare has had a rough weekend, with its Anthem VIP Demo not going as well as they have thought it would. Apparently, the VIP Demo is plagued with issues such as players not being able to log in, or getting stuck in the loading screen. BioWare has since issued an apology, and admitted that the demo last weekend was “rocky,” and that they’re giving away a free skin for participants. Additionally, BioWare announced that they are unlocking all four javelins for anybody who participated in the VIP demo and use them during the open demo.
