Dark Souls Trilogy Collection Could Possibly Come to Europe

It appears like the Dark Souls Trilogy collection is also heading to Europe, basing on listings found on some online retailers. Resetera has spotted listings from Amazon Spain and Amazon Germany which point to the trilogy’s European release on March 1, 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and both sites priced the game at around 70 Euros. Bandai Namco has yet to confirm this, though. The trilogy was first announced during Gamescom, but Bandai Namco clarified that it will be available for US and Asia markets only.


Final Fantasy X and X-II Switch and Xbox One Release Date Announced

A host of classic Final Fantasy games are heading to modern consoles this year! Square Enix will start bringing the franchise to the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One starting with Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster which will launch April 16th. This contains the remastered versions of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 that come complete with HD visuals, some new content, and other improvements. After this is Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age which comes to Xbox One and Switch on April 30th.


Ace Combat 7 Gets Team Deathmatch and Battle Royale Modes

Ace Combat 7’s much anticipated launch date is drawing near, and we got to know more details on what other things the game has to offer. First up, the game will include a full campaign which players can play in standard mode. It also has Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, as well as an all-new battle royale mode. Players on the PSVR will also get exclusive missions. Team Deathmatch and Battle Royale will support up to 8 players. Ace Combat 7 launches on consoles first on January 18th, while PC follows on February 1st.


Red Dead Online 2 to Remain in Beta for the Meantime

Rockstar Games has just announced the new battle royale mode Gun Rush for Red Dead 2 Online. In their announcement, the company also said that Red Dead Redemption 2’s online multiplayer version will remain in beta for the meantime. Rockstar said that the reason Red Dead 2 Online will remain in beta for the next few months is because they still have “many more new gameplay features to add across the board as well as further changes to improve, stabilize and refine the overall experience.”


Halo 5 is Free on the Xbox One All Weekend with Double XP

Microsoft is awarding players an opportunity to try Halo 5: Guardians for free this weekend on the Xbox One. The game is a part of Microsoft’s Free Play Days promotion which offers priced games for free for a set duration. In addition, players will earn double XP throughout the duration of the promotion. Enjoy the Holiday Fiesta playlist as you celebrate the holidays in the snow-themed variants of Halo 5 arena maps. However, in order to access the game you must be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.


Return of the Obra Dinn Gets Six Nominations for DICE Awards

Lucas Pope persists to impress and has the accolades to show, after receiving 6 DICE Award nominations for Return of the Obra Dinn. Of the games nominated, Return of the Obra Dinn is definitely the champion of PC. Atop the nomination charts are the expected contenders of God of War with 12 nominations, Marvel’s Spider-Man with 11 then Red Dead Redemption 2 with eight. The winners for the respective categories will be announced at an awards ceremony that commences on February 13 in Las Vegas.


Epic Games Given an “F” By the Better Business Bureau

Epic Games has received an “F’ rating from the Better Business Bureau. The rating may not be the true representation of the developer’s customer service, but it does not look well for the business. It is rumored that the BBB gave the Fortnite creators that appalling score due to unanswered customer complaints. The company has received 279 complaints and 247 have gone without a response. Majority of the complaints are centered around customer service and issuing refunds.


PUBG Bans 12 PUBG Pros for Cheating or Allowing Teammates to Cheat

The PUBG corporation has reported that 12 PUBG pros have been banned for cheating or allowing teammates to cheat. December 19, 2018 marked the day PUBG Corp commenced a global investigation on all the currently active professional PUBG players. The investigation was geared towards sourcing any potential in-game bans related to the use of unauthorized programs on their accounts. 12 players were sentenced to up to 3 years suspension, 2 of which were guilty as they knew their teammates were cheating.


THQ Nordic Acquires Outcast IP

THQ Nordic started 2019 on a high having acquired the rights to the Outcast IP. The IP was recently recreated as Outcast: Second Contact for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. THQ Nordic’s plans for the IP are yet to be divulged but we do know that acquiring it assures a luminous future for the developers. 2018 was a solid year for THQ Nordic and they have certainly carried the same momentum into the new year. Daily operations for the IP will be handled by Vienna, Austria’s THQ Nordic GmbH.


Bombfest Release Date Announced

Sudden Event Studios is pleased to announce that Bombfest will be released on January 31, 2019 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The developers invite you to engage in explosive battles using bombs to best your opponents and become the last player standing. The game has a local multiplayer for you and up to three friends. Earn points according to how long you survive. Your combat arena ranges from wooded forts to kitchen sinks. Delve in and trigger explosive chain reactions.

Red Dead 2 PS4 Exclusive Content Now Also Available on Xbox One

All PS4 exclusive Read Dead Redemption 2 content is now accessible to Xbox One players. On January 10, 2019 Rockstar Games released an update which included a battle royale mode, and a note that shared the splendid news for Xbox One fans. The note in the update read “Xbox One players can also now access the Red Chestnut Arabian Horse, Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle and the High Roller Double-Action Revolver in the Red Dead Online Beta.” Now Xbox One players may game, free of envy.


Epic Games Store’s Refund Policy is Similar to Steam’s

The Epic Games Store has updated its refund policy and is now similar with Steam’s. The new policy allows users to get unconditional refunds for games that were bought less than two weeks, and played for less than two hours. In the case of pre-ordered games, the timeframe is until 14 days after the game officially launched. Epic’s director of publishing strategy Sergey Galyonkin said through a tweet that they’re working on developing a self-service form for refunds; for now, players can use the Epic Games support for filing.


Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Gets New Trailer Showcasing Three Grand Campaigns

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 has received a new trailer which showcases the game’s three grand campaigns. These campaigns are available for five of the game’s 12 factions. The three campaigns are Imperial, Necron & Tyranid, and each of these come with its own distinct systems and narrative. The Imperial campaign is more traditional, while the Necron campaign is focused less on building. The Tyranid campaign is focused more on swarming and consuming planets and turning them into ships.


Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Features a Safe Hub Area for Players

Just like in Souls games, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will also feature a safe hub area where players won’t have to fear for their characters’ lives. The area is called the Dilapidated Temple, and it’s an enclosed area where players can upgrade their abilities and buy items. Players will also be able to fast travel to the hub, too, like in the Souls games. What’s different is that the Dilapidated Temple is connected to multiple areas, unlike those of Souls and Bloodborne’s where players need to teleport from there to explore the world.


Monster Hunter World’s The Witcher Crossover to Take Place February 8th

Monster Hunter World’s free Witcher crossover is happening next month – February 8th, to be exact! Players on consoles will get to access this first, while PC players will follow “at a later date.” This crossover will mix Monster Hunter World’s gameplay with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s RPG mechanics, according to Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto. He further added that the crossover will “create a really fresh experience” that will appeal to fans of both series.


Ring of Elysium’s Europa Map Heads West Next Week

Ring of Elysium’s second season kicks off next week, and it comes along with the much-awaited Europa map. The second season and Europa map arrives on January 16th. This also marks the first time the map will be made available to the west. This map features an active volcano situated in a Mediterranean-style island. Underwater travel is also one of the map’s features, plus there are also new weapons, three new characters, BMX bikes, hang gliders, and grappling hooks. A new gameplay update will also be rolled out the same day.


Epic to Fix Fortnite’s Uneven Ground Issue

Fortnite has a serious uneven ground issue, and players have been frustrated over it ever since Fortnite Battle Royale’s launch. Finally, Epic Games is doing something about it, even if it took them quite a long time to start doing so. A fix for the uneven grounds will be rolled out with the game’s patch version 7.20 which is expected to roll out sometime next week. This fix will allow players to build two walls when they’re on low ground, and at the same time block enemy fire.


PC Building Simulator Exits Early Access Later This Month

PC Building Simulator will be leaving early access later this month. The virtual PC parts picking and assembling game has been in early access for almost a year and has been constantly updated with more branded parts. Now, players have access to some of the latest hardware available such as the i9-9900k and the Threadripper 2970WX. The devs have also promised that the RTX GPUs will be added in the future. PC Building Simulator fully launches on January 29th.


Dead or Alive 6 Beta Available Now, Exclusive for PS Plus Members

Dead or Alive 6 surprised players with the launch of its rumored demo, but there’s a catch. The demo is available now, however, only players on the PlayStation 4, and are PS Plus members, will get to access it. The demo runs from now until Monday, January 14th at 6:59 am PST. It only includes a single stage, the DOA Colosseum, and only five characters: Kasumi, Diego, Ayane, Hayate, and Hayabusa. The demo also only has one mode available, which is the 1-versus-1 “Online Versus” mode, so don’t expect any offline play.


Square Enix Reveals Kingdom Hearts 3’s Update Release Schedule

Square Enix has revealed the post-launch update schedule for Kingdom Hearts 3 and apparently, the game will feature an epilogue. The only caveat is that you’ll have to update your game to view it once the update is released on January 30th. Another secret video will come as an update the day after. The epilogue requires players to complete the game and view the ending before they get access to it, while the secret video will require the same plus the fulfillment of certain criteria during the actual playthrough.


Black Ops 4’s Next Update Detailed

Treyarch has taken to Reddit to outline details for the next Call of Duty Black Ops 4 coming next week. Gauntlets, which are “curated 30-round challenges with unique rules for each round’, are coming to Zombies. A 115 Day Celebration Event will also be held from January 15th to 18th, giving double XP, weapon XP, and Nebulium Plasma on all platforms. Console players will also get a new looting interface for Blackout. Lastly, Elevation and Madagascar will both be added to the multiplayer map rotation for those who own the Black Ops Pass.
