Risk of Rain 2 to Release in Early Access Early 2019
With only a few information about the game available, developer Hopoo Games has announced that Risk of Rain 2 will be launching on Steam Early Access by early 2019. It has also been confirmed that the Mercenary from the original game will be making a comeback in the second iteration. Also, Risk of Rain 2 is now in 3D as compared to the previous 2D game. The game’s launch for Early Access plans to build a community where they can collect feedback from the player base. Risk of Rain 2 is now available for wishlisting.
Futuristic Courier Exploration-Adventure Game Cloudpunk Announced
A new futuristic, narrative exploration-adventure driven game called Cloudpunk has been announced and it will be launching by next year. The game is from Developer Ion Lands and will let players explore a city way above with a hover car or on foot. Studio head Marko Dieckmann further explains that the game encourages exploration with a storyline to follow. The game doesn’t have combat at all and it is more of an atmospheric experience that is focused on the city and its inhabitants.
Slay the Spire’s Final Act Launches Next Week
The final act for Slay the Spire will be launching next week. The game is a roguelike deck builder that had been launched in Steam Early Access last year. It has now been polished and has gotten better with the addition of new cards, characters, and art all thanks to the weekly patches by the devs. It looks like the game will be nearing its exit from Early Access with the final content coming next week. Also, as a bonus, the developers are throwing in a “beta” card art made by the game’s community.
World War II Shooter Tannenberg Out of Early Access in February
World War I first-person shooter Tannenberg will be ending its Early Access run and will be officially launching next year. The game’s full launch is on February 13, 2019. Also, as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Armistice, developers M2H and Blackmill Games teased a special winter offensive event as well as a two-minute in-game silence. Tannenberg is a multiplayer game and can support up to 64 players. The game also received an update which overhauls its interface.
Overwatch League Reveals Paris and Guangzhou Teams’ Names
Two more teams have been revealed for the Overwarch League 2019 and they are from Paris and Guangzhou! Europe’s Paris team is called The Paris Eternal and they sport a logo that looks like a Gallic rooster which is a symbol that dates way back the French revolution. Their players are from France, Poland, Finland, Iceland, and the United Kingdom. The other team is called the Guangzhou Charge from China. Right now, however, their roster is being kept secret. The league will begin on February 14, 2019.
The Lord of the Rings Online Rolls Out Legendary Server
Daybreak Games is following the footsteps of World of Warcraft: Classic, as they will be launching the Legendary Server in The Lord of the Rings Online. This will allow players to play the 2007 version of the game. In the Legendary Server, players will be creating a brand new character and will have to go through the beginning of the game until the end of the Angmar story line. This will launch with level 50 and below content only and will be exclusive for VIP subscribers.
Epic Skater 2 Launches with New Career Mode and More Features
The popular Epic Skater game for iOS and Android will be coming to PC with Epic Skater 2. Developer, Your Daily Fill said in a press release that the title had been in developement for about two years and had been rebuilt and expanded. It looks like the game will have more challenges having 100 Steam achievements to unlock, 11 tiers, and 2000 goals available in endless mode. Plus there are 40 career mode levels that include challenges, 44 upgradable tricks, and 600 skater gear, clothing, and more.
Steel Rats Out Now
Another biker game is out! Steel Rats is ready to let players experience some high-octane action and is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game features a combination of racing action and platforming set in intense levels. In Steel Rats, the player’s weapon is his motorcycle, as he fights against “an invading horde of alien Junkbots. ” Players can also choose one from the four members of Steel Rats to play as, with each one of them having their own sets of abilities and weapons.
Horror Game HellSign Available on Steam Early Access
If you’re into horror games featuring supernatural beings, then you’ll want to check out HellSign. The game is now available on Steam Early Access. The game’s Early Access build features the first of its three chapters in the Story Mode, 3 bosses as well as 13 creatures to hunt, and 10-12 hours of gameplay. Once fully launched, the game will feature all chapters, over 12 bosses and over 25 creatures, 3 or more job locations, and over 40 hours of gameplay. The game is slated to launch late 2019.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead Gets First Two Patches
Overkill’s The Walking Dead is now available on PC, and the game has received its first two patches. The first one was released November 7th, while the second one was released just a day later on November 8th. The first patch adds UI visual support for special characters of AZERTY keyboards and includes fixes on some issues. The second patch adds the feature where players can’t shoot while one player is reloading. It also contained some fixes to annoying issues such as getting stuck.
Crackdown 3 Official System Requirements Announced
The official system requirements for Crackdown has been announced by Microsoft. To play the game, players will at least need an Intel i5 3470 or an AMD FX-6300 CPU with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA Geforce 750 Ti or an AMD Radeon R7 260X GPU. On the other hand, Microsoft recommends an Intel i5 4690 or an AMD FX-8350 CPU with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA Geforce 970 or an NVIDIA Geforce 1060 or an AMD Radeon R9 290X or an AMD Radeon RX 480 GPU. It will also require DirectX 12 and Windows 10 or higher OS.

Microsoft Acquires Obsidian Entertainment and inXile
One of the biggest announcements made at XO18 was Microsoft’s acquisition of two new studios. Microsoft announced their acquisition of Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind hits like Fallout New Vegas and the Pillars of Eternity RPGs. Ongoing negotiations for Obsidian’s acquisition had been rumored for quite some time but have only been confirmed now. The second new studio joining Microsoft Studios is InXile, makers of the Wasteland series and The Bard’s Tale series.
Xbox Head Pledges to Fix Microsoft Store
With some of Microsoft’s biggest games locked behind the Microsoft Store on PC, players have been constantly complaining about how the terrible the platform is for games. During XO18 however, Phil Spencer has announced that he’ll be taking a bigger leadership role in the Microsoft Store and he’ll be working on making it tailored towards gamers. This is good news especially with more first-party titles most likely ined up for release with their aggressive acquisition of new studios.
Huge Update for State of Decay 2 On the Way
A huge update for State of Decay 2 is on its way! Theupdate, called Zedhunter, was revealed at this year’s X018. It brings new weapons, gear items, crafts, missions, and skills. One of the features highlighted for this expansion is a crossbow weapon which allows players to kill enemies from a distance. Another feature is the skill Shopping, which increases players’ search speed while scavenging. These and more features will be coming when Zedhunter rolls out this coming November 16th.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 Gets New Materials Island Feature
This week’s issue of Jump reveals a new location called Material Island. As its name suggests, Material Island is where players will find tons of items for building. Meeting certain conditions will provide players with infinite materials that they can use often like string. Material Island also features “Builder Best 100 Sights” where players will see the works of other players who have won contests. Dragon Quest Builders 2 will launch in the west in 2019.
Trine: Enchanted Edition heading to Switch
Frozenbyte has announced that the entire Trine trilogy will be heading to Nintendo Switch. The first one, Trine: Enhanced Edition is out now, and the company has confirmed that Trine 2: Complete Story and Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power will also be following suit. The Switch port of these games are being worked on by BlitWorks. There’s no word as to when the next two Trine games will be launching on Switch.
Sea of Thieves Announces Competitive PvP Mode
Rare has revealed a new competitive PvP mode for their seafaring game Sea of Thieves called The Arena. This is set to roll out by early next year. The Arena is where players and their friends can take on rival crews with the goal of getting the most loot. Players will be battling out their rivals in hand-in-hand battles as well as on sea, with the first one sinking their ship losing the match.
First Expansion for Forza Horizon 4 Arrives December 13th
Microsoft Studios has announced Forza Horizon 4’s first expansion called Fortune Island. The expansion will go live December 13th. It takes players to an island situated in the “remote northern reaches of the British Isles.” Here, players will drive through clifftop roads and mountain passes and also battle lightning storms, and even catch a glimpse of Northern lights. Players will also hunt hidden treasures and get access to five new Ford vehicles. The DLC is part of the game’s expansion bundle.
Valve Condemns Use of Racist Insults
Looks like Valve has had enough of racial insults from Dota 2 pros following a couple of incidents that happened in the recent weeks. The first one involved Andrei “skem” Ong from compLexity Gaming who has since been issued a “formal reprimand, and a maximum fine” for the “inappropriate comment” he made earlier this month. A few days later, Carlo “Kuku” Palad of TNC Pro Team did the same. Dota 2 has since been review bombed on Steam, with players citing the lack of punishment for both players.
Crackdown 3 Release Date Revealed
Crackdown 3’s official release date has been revealed! The game will be launching February 15, 2019, and this was revealed during the recently concluded X018. Also announced was a 5 versus 5 multiplayer mode called Wrecking Ball which tasks players into destroying as many things as they can from skyscrapers, walkways, and much more.
inXile Speaks Up After Microsoft Acquisition Announcement
After the announcement of inXile’s acquisition by Microsoft, the company has spoken up to inform backers on what the acquisition means to the company’s future. Responding to questions on Twitter, inXile said that they are still keeping their commitments to their backers for Bard’s Tale 4 and Wasteland 3. They added that the acquisition will make Wasteland 3 better thanks to Microsoft’s resources.
Tigers and paiN Gaming Get Eliminated From Kuala Lumpur Major
The DOTA Pro Circuit Kula Lumpur Major is currently underway, and Tigers and paiN Gaming are the first teams to be eliminated in the first round of lower bracket competition. Tigers lost against paiN X, while PaiN lost against TnC P. The group stage in the Kuala Lumpur Major took pace from November 9 to 10, with four groups of four teams for each one. The playoffs will take place from November 11 to 18.
